During dead balls and timeouts Nate and Otto constantly talking to each other about strategy. Cool to see.

I'm luvin' it, Nate. Remind me, who were those calling for him to sit last year?

Nate worked hard last summer to add to his game and to get stronger. Hop will do the same this summer and will contribute more next year, at the 5 and also at the 4. Hoyatalk just needs a whipping player every year! ;D

How about earlier in the year when people on this board were saying that DSR was too slow to play at this level and would not be a factor for us??

If Nate could add any significant offensive threat to his game, beyond putbacks and the hook shot, I truly believe he could play at the next level in a reserve role. His IQ, passing, intensity and heart are incredible. What is missing is the ability to make the other team guard him at the 7-12 foot range.

I can't find anything else at this point. Mikael Hopkins Has played good defense all year. He has not rebounded well but he is part of the reason that people do not shoot well against us. Has significantly improved his free throw shooting. Hasn't sulked as his playing time has been reduced.

Hoyatalk just needs a whipping player every year! ;D I know you're being light but it's never so much of a whipping boy but that we know they are capable of more. Nate put in tons of work in the offseason to improve his strengths, weaknesses and recognize skills he didn't have. As a result he is efficient and playing well. Going into this season just about everyone predicted Hop would be our starting 5 leading to high expectations. Not going to lie, I expected at least 5ppg,2rpg per game, not much. Obviously he doesn't have the confidence or polished skills to do that this year but we can all see what he has given us. You don't see much Hop criticism because we have reevaluated our expectations for him. If he gets hot early and avoids foul trouble he always has the potential for a decent day. I agree with you that Hop will work hard over the summer and I bet he will at least get some good practice with the turnaround jumper against our BIG bigs. Beat Cuse!
