Reid? The only thing I cared at all for in this bizarre little article was the statement "D.C. is also the biggest TV market without a true college football presence."

My mistake - I went from memory instead of looking it up. Sorry, even if you had said "Reed" in your original post, I would have just wondered how communists would ever field a football team that could lure fans away from Oregon or Oregon State.

It's the second day of the Big East Tournament, and we're discussing college football in the District?

It's the second day of the Big East Tournament, and we're discussing college football in the District? Have you seen how bad the three tournament games have been so far? I am guessing the answer is no.

I am guessing the answer is no. I thought the USF-SHU game was pretty entertaining at the end. Anyway, for about $500 mil up front you could transform Gtown or Horward into an FBS program of some kind. Play games at RFK after a minor upgrade (with future plans to build a new stadium in the parking lot of RFK that would also house DC United, and maybe the redskins- actually thats a really good idea because Snyder wants a Jerrydome of his own and he loves money so more tenants the merrier.) The one area that this article gets right is that MD/VA has a lot of talent, it just goes out of state (or to VT). And I cant see UMD turning anything around anytime soon especially as the bottom feeders in the Big10. Of course none of this is going to happen, but its fun to think about.
