Could not be happier for, or more proud of, Chris. It is hard enough to make the NBA when not battling illness.
His courage and perserverance are amazing reminders of what the human spirit can do.

I think it's a good situation for Chris too. After Collison, their only true point guard is Mike James and he's entirely washed up from not being good to begin with. They have some combos who can run some point, but no one who you would want doing it full time. Right now they're 3 games out of the 8th spot in the West, but I don't see how they get back into the race. Which means that hopefully Chris will get some real playing time so they can get a look at him and see if they want to bring him back.
Anyway, this is awesome and (another) bonus to a great weekend for Hoyas everywhere.

Had no idea he was diagnosed with M.S. Really hope he stays symptom free and keeps going strong as he always has. He always seemed a warrior, now I know he is.
And tremendous to see our first guard make the league. Georgetown is building some momentum and the recruits gotta be noticing not only the college success the team has had under JTIII, but the NBA success we're proving out. Go get 'em, Chris!

Wow, Chris with MS and Austin with Diabetes..two guys that have been through a lot together.
So JTII has had the following in the NBA since at Gtown :
Jeff Green Roy Hibbert DaJuan Summers Vernon Macklin Greg Monroe Hollis Thompson Patrick Ewing Jr. Henry Sims Chris Wright (Otto Porter) Chris Wright
11 players in 9 yrs - nice!
Hollis Thompson has not made an NBA club. He was signed in the off season but was cut in pre-season.--Admin

Did Hollis actually play any NBA games?
Also, I wouldn't count Macklin. I know that he didn't seem to add a whole lot to his game at UF, but I don't think anyone really thinks of him as a Hoya post-transfer.

Hollis Thompson has not played in the NBA (nor is it confirmed he ever graduated, despite the fact that people say that as truth all the time here - as of last summer, he had 2 classes to go).

Anyone have any idea where Hollis is now? Would imagine he would move over to Europe for a bit to dominate for at least a year or two.

Chris has a great chance to stick with the Mavs permanently if he is able to run the pick and roll with Dirk. Neither James, Jones nor Beaubois can do that effectively, and you can see on Dirk's face how much he dislikes playing with them because of that. And Darren Collison is way too inconsistent to start long term in the NBA. Finally, I don't think any of them are under contract beyond this season, so this is the perfect opportunity for Chris.
It'll be Chris vs. Jeff next Friday night in Dallas when the Celtics come to town.

Hollis is with Thunder affiliate alternating between DNPs and shooting 28% for long range as Jeremy lamb gets burn.
I'm sure he framed his 3 yr NBA "contract"...now time to frame diploma. Will be interesting to see if he plays abroad or not. Thunder at least use their d league.
