I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the particulars of the pre-game College Gameday festivities at the Verizon. Since this is the first time we are hosting, I have no idea how it works.
Is it open to anyone who had a ticket to the game? What time do doors open? Can we bring props?
Any info will help.

Doors open at 8 am for students and at 9:30 for everyone else with a ticket. Let's get there early and keep it loud and rowdy!

Since our game is at 12 and not 8 or 9 like every other college gameday, I wonder if they will still do that "do you know your teammate" game. That's usually humorous and I don't usually care about the players. They'll probably just fly Ryan Kelly down though and have him play against himself.

has there been any indication from Hoya Blue they are organizing anything? Would be pretty embarrassing for the place to be empty for this

Maybe we can get some Anacostia High kids to wear grey since our students will be in Cancun. Seriously, will the Hoya pep band even be there?

There really hasn't been a lot of information about this from the Hoop Club or the University. They want us to show up, right?

Per an email that just hit my inbox at 11:08 PM:
Thank you for purchasing tickets to see the #5 Hoyas take on #16 Syracuse on Saturday, March 9 at noon.
With the largest expected crowd for a Georgetown Men's Basketball game at Verizon Center, the Georgetown Athletic Department is asking that all patrons with tickets to the game arrive early and attend pre-game fesitivies that include ESPN's College GameDay.
Please read all of the important information below:
Arrive early. A capacity crowd is expected for Saturday's game.
All gates will open at 9:30 AM. ESPN's College GameDay will broadcast live starting at 10 AM.
All patrons must sit in their assigned seats.
There is no re-entry into Verizon Center. Once you have entered the arena, you will not be readmitted should you choose to leave.
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday! Go Hoyas!
Hope the "must sit in assigned seats" rules can be gently bent to allow for fans to pack in the camera angles on Game Day. Otherwise, it's going to look like a ghost town behind the announcers...

Is this happening from 10-11, or 10-12? It's on ESPNU from 10-11 and ESPN from 11-12, but I can't tell if the latter is going to be a repeat.
Two hour show, moves over to ESPN for the last hour.--Admin

Students just got a copy of the above e-mail with this additional information (warning, you need a seating chart to actually understand it): The student entrance will open at 8 AM.
All student season ticket holders must have their GOCard and MY HOYAS Season Ticket Card or ticket for entry. To be admitted with a student section ticket and be eligible for a wristband, you must be a current Georgetown University student with a valid GOCard; otherwise, your student section ticket is not valid.
There is no re-entry into Verizon Center. Once you've entered, you may not leave.
One color wristband will be distributed to students for seating in the 100 level student sections. After 100 level wristbands have been distributed, the next students may choose between 100 level "standing room only" seats and 400 level student section seats. A separate color wristband will be issued for the student section seats in the 400 level. Those electing "standing room only" seats will be provided with vouchers for reserved "standing room only" locations.
Student season ticket holders with wristbands will be seated in sections 105, 106, 116, 117, 207, 208, 222, 223, 425 and 426. Student season ticket holders who elect standing room only seats will be seated in sections SRO104, SRO107, SRO115 and SRO118. Maybe they are expecting a ton of students? I'm doubtful, but who really knows these days
