Really? I thought the guard play was solid against Cuse. If not for Jabril's penetration to set up Otto, I don't think we win that game. I thought the guard play was good against Uconn. Agreed.

I think we need to pump the brakes on saying Otto is unquestionably the best Hoya since Iverson. Sweets, Roy and Jeff all have something to say about that. That said, hard to argue against him as the best player in the country right now. Seems to ge better every night.

I hope we are two behind Gonzaga. We will be #4. Duke win over Miami gets them enough votes to stay ahead of us. I think we could be Duke.

Was Rice suspended earlier this year for his conduct with his players? Really don 't like his coaching. His team is all bump and grab while he complains to the officials.

Third game in a row where the guard play hasn't been very good. Really? I thought the guard play was solid against Cuse. If not for Jabril's penetration to set up Otto, I don't think we win that game. Jabril was fine against Cuse but wasn't great tonight, and Starks's level of play isn't what it was earlier in the year. Overall they are still having too much trouble scoring (aside from Otto), and some of that is on the guards. But they compensate on the defensive side -- this group defends better than any Hoya team in recent memory.

Maybe a little over-exhuvberant on my part but Sweets never carried his team to top 5 like Otto has and he played in a much higher possession system under Esherick. None of the others you mention were seriously considered a national POY candidate this late in the season. What Otto is doing right now needs to be recognized, he is becoming THE player in college basketball. I would have never thought a player in the Gtown system could be edging up so high in the National POY race and have taken this roster to a Top 4 ranking. This attention is crazy given the system's natural effect on a player's offensive stats. On top of all of that, he is a very good defensive player on an excellent defensive team.

Being in Piscataway and following the team, I can tell you the fanbase has had enough of Rice's tough guy act. Their game attendance is dismal and many wanted him fired earlier in the year after being suspended for how he treated athletic dept staff. He complains about the refs the entire game and postgame and yet never provides any coaching insight into how to get better othen than "we need to get tougher." He will never be on the sideline of a B1G game for RU.

Can they stay at three despite a solid road loss at an unranked team? Maybe in the coaches poll, but hopefully not AP. either way, I think we're 3/4 in AP, 4/5 in Coaches.

Sweetney had about 10 more possessions a game to work with. Obviously this is speculation, but after running a 3card monte simulation, I calculated that if this team had 10 more possessions a game, Otto would score at least 20 points more a game. ;D

Thought the crowd was good considering it was Rutgers. If this was a noon game I think you get 9-10k. Really wish we had more "prime time" games. I think this would really help with attendance even for the lesser games

11 wins in a row! As Sonny & Cher once sang, "And the Beat Goes On.". Is there anything Otto Porter can't do? We are watching "Otto and the Miracles.". In fact for old time Hoya fans it would be very interesting to statistically investigate who was a larger part of his team's success. Reggie Williams in 1987 or Otto Porter in 2013. Hoya fans, you've got to believe! The 1987 team was named Reggie and the miracles for a reason: Other than Reggie, it simply wasn't that talented. This isn't Otto and the miracles. There is significant talent other than Porter. Markel is one of the top three pg's in the league. DSR is one of the top 3-4 freshmen. The team has a host of big bodies and there is a bit of depth. The Otto and the miracles moniker is probably a slap in the face to how talented the rest of the team is

With him we are looking at a 1 seed and he is in the discussion for national player of the year. Considering he is the only Hoya to score in double digits in 2 of the last 3 games ...a span where he has gone for 83....I seriously doubt any other Hoya would consider it a "slap in the face".
