I think it could be televised on ESPN. I remember watching the end of the USC-UNLV game last nite. They showed the NIT bracket and put USC playing GTOWN and right below it was the ESPN symbol showing that it would be on ESPN. But, maybe they messed up, but that is what I saw.

Here's a link to ESPN's thursday night lineup. As you can see, stupid Texas Hold Em' crap and billiards dominate the evening (at least Jeanette Lee is on The Deuce... can't stand those fat slobs playing poker). sports.espn.go.com/sports/tvlistings/index?date=20050324This is why ESPN truly needs The Ocho. For obscure NIT quarterfinal games. Of course, isn't that why they created ESPN U?

That sucks. Maybe they'll do another webcast on guhoyas.com though. They definately should if they can--I know I'll watch (even if I have to pay for it). I doubt that G'town could engineer a webcast for an away game -- I'm pretty sure that they were able to do it for BU because it was at home, and they could just plug into the existing jumbotron system. I suppose it would be possible (if USC has a jumbotron set-up) but it would require a more complicated system than what was used for the last one.

GUHoyas.com has been updated again, says
So we are SOL. I don't see the same anti-GU ESPN conspiracies that some do here, but I am more than a little unhappy that this is only NIT Quarterfinal game not being televised. I am sure it has everything to do with being the only one up against Sweet 16 games, but why not schedule it for a different time?

Probably not many options. They want it played no later than Saturday, so the winner can make travel arrangements for NYC for Tuesday's semis, also so that ESPN can start promoting. With the women's NCAA's already taking up spots, I don't know when they could have slipped it in without running up against the men's tourney - although they might have been able to put it on ESPN Classic somewhere along the line.

ESPN and CBS have a tacit agreement not to counterprogram during the NCAA tournament.
The games tonight are on tv because it's Wed. The Sat. game is at NOon and won't conflict with the regional final games that will probably be later in the afternoon or evening. Actually the games are at 4:30 and 7PM.
We just have bad timing in terms of when we played last night.

However, last night was good timing in terms of being unopposed on the sports TV calendar and showed the Hoyas in a venue and with a result that cannot do anything but help if any recruits were watching/present.

Agreed. It was awesome. To get a 7PM ESPN game with no real competition was great.
Good work with the win and since I was there I can say the environment was excellent. Good work all around.

Saturday at 2 would have been a fine time for the game by me. Wah. I just hope last night was not the last time I get to see the Hoyas this year.

In retrospect, why did SC get this game at home and not us? They ended the year at 15-13 while we were 17-12. Coming into the game they were 17-13 while we were 19-12. Also they were 7-9 in conference and we were 8-8. We had a better RPI.
Any ideas?!

They draw almost 11,000 for an NIT game. We drew an average of 8500 for a season.
'Nuff said.
