Wow... PACKED!!! LOUD!!! LOOKS GREAT!!!
They did the right thing getting the students on the side of the dourt you see on TV. Students behind the back board? Imagine a game against 'Cuse here with people behind BOTH hoops. Oh man... this is only going to wet EVERYONE'S appetite for more on-campus games... not to mention a new arena!!!
Even the Hoya Saxa chant sounds amazing.
GO HOYAS!!

I don't think Owens has missed a shot in two months... although for some reason Jarvis DID call him G'Town's "three-point specialist."

"Only" up by 11 at the half, 41-30, but our assist to turnover ratio, as given by gametracker, is 2000. Actually, if you look in the scoreboard, that should be 2.000, while CSF is at 0.67. They are getting their offensive rebounds and going to the line more than us. Other than that the game seems to be going well. Keep it up Hoyas!!!

Crawford is a nasty rebounder.
If (when?) we win this game, and if UNLV wins, we play AT MCDONOUGH on Thursday.
C'MON REBS!!!

Buffalo, how did you learn this? So if it's South Carolina we travel, but if it's UNLV, we stay home again? This is incredible!

Who were the morons that painted the "G" upside down on center court? Or the idiots that put the TV camera platforms on the wrong side? Either way, our fault. Also, the other side looks bigger than the one they showed most of the night, fewer gaps.
Overall, I was impressed. That sounded GREAT, and looked pretty darn exciting. McDonough always strikes me as looking brand new for an old place. Nice little gym.

McDonough always strikes me as looking brand new for an old place. Nice little gym. They couldn't put all the necessary TV equipment on the side that would have had the "G" show up properly. On that side, there are the bleachers, and only a small press box type area up top. The other side (from which the game was filmed) has the bleachers, and then the hallway at the top, which has enough room for all the gear. For TV purposes, the "G" should face that way, but considering that we haven't had a game televised from McDonough in 23 years, it probably wasn't something that went into the thought process when they painted the floor....

Ummm...that's someone's job, isn't it? Someone ordering the painting of the "G" in the first place ought to have had a modicum of foresight when they painters say "which way you want this "G" anyway chief?" Afterall, there have even been Gtown womens volleyball games televised there- the only arena on a Big East campus MUST be ready for the mere possibility of tv- even local tv. And I am willing to bet they are ready for tv with regard to camera platforms and outlets, etc- and someone painted the "G" the other direction.

There really aren't any camera platforms or anything. All the equipment was up in the hallway behind the bleachers on the left - space which just doesn't exist on the opposite side. I'm not defending it, just trying to come up with a logical reason why it's the way it is. I guess I don't chalk this up to someone being a moron or an idiot - if you told me to paint McDonough tomorrow, I'd assume we wouldn't have a televised game there again for oh, say, another 23 years or so. I'd assume we'd have built a new arena by then.....
And if (a BIG if) a women's volleyball game were ever televised, I'm guessing they'd be able to do it with a lot less equipment that ESPN brought last night.
