Hey Fan and Cam...you guys aren't doing any work right now. Let's just go to the Tombs now...
Go Hoyas! Oh and Feinstein is a jerk. I almost wished Bucknell lost so we don't have to listen to another year of him and his Patriot League crusade!

Hey Fan and Cam...you guys aren't doing any work right now. Let's just go to the Tombs now... Yeah, but my boss THINKS I'm working......maybe I'll just leave my computer on, and leave my jacket on the back of my chair, and just announce that I have a "meeting".

Or just let your helper monkey type on the computer...that would work too.

Well, here is his Georgetown question. His first sentence doesn't make any sense, but he seems slightly positive. Too bad he won't be at the game tonight...although I think he heard Cam was going to be there so he decided against it...smart man.
Wichita, Kan.: John, What are your thoughts on the Georgetown basketball season? Success, mediocre, failure, or somewhere in between? How do you see this team positioned in the new Big East? BYW, are you planning to attend tonight's on campus game?
John Feinstein: I think you'd have to call it a success given that they didn't even make the Big East tourament this year. Certainly the way they finished was a disappointment, but I think John Thompson's name will help him recruit and Georgetown should have a chance to be competitive in the Big East going forward. I won't be at tonight's game, but I will be shocked if the HOYAs don't advance.

From the chat: John, Fellow Devil and regular reader of yours since the days of the Duke Chronicle!! I have a 12-year-old son who loves hoops and has visions of playing for Coach K; he bought your book last week, and his school work has suffered ever since, as he will not put it down. He says it is really hard to read, since he wants so much to be the boy in the book!! I just threw up a little in my mouth

What's this about not making the Big East Tourney this year? Did IQs just plummet while I was at lunch?

My summary of the chat thusfar:
Emailer: "Hi John. Gosh, you are great. I love everything you've ever written, and I should know greatness because I am smart for picking [insert school here] in my NCAA pool."
Potatohead: "Thank you very much. I concur. Both I and -- to a much lesser extent -- you are pretty great. By reading my new book, you will only serve to validate this statement."
Methinks the moderator is picking the submissions very, VERY carefully.

Feinstein is an idiot. No Big East Tourney? D-III championship game? From the chat:

1150: John,
What's this that I keep hearing about a kid making a basket while lying on his back, either in the NIT or a high school game? I can't find the write-up anywhere!
Thanks.
John Feinstein: Division III national championship game.

which one of you was it....
Pasadena, Calif.: I found interesting your comment about Bob Knight being incapable of letting go a grudge. How would you evaluate yourself in that capacity? I ask because you seem to take shots at Georgetown at every opportunity.
John Feinstein: I think if you read back what I've said during this chat I've expressed admiration for the progress John Thompson III has made during this year. I do think that in the past Georgetown rode on a very high horse for a school that basically dropped all its admissions standards for basketball players. That doesn't make it unique by any means, except for the school administrators somehow trying to claim that Georgetown was Princeton, when in fact it's a lot closer academically when it comes to basketball to schools in the ACC and the SEC

He he he...more venom. I love it. Feinstein is having a heart attack right now. I love how he basically implies that we're turning down a chairity foundation and not his sorry a@#.
College Park, Md.: John, What are the chances of getting a true Metro-area round-robin, either involving the current BB&T or involving that and some independent games? I've heard recently that Georgetown was interested in playing but that now Maryland is not interested in playing them or other locals. It would seem a sure crowd-pleaser to have some combination of UMd, Georgetown, GW, AU, Howard, GMU, and Navy playing every year. Any insight?
John Feinstein: I agree, that would be great. The problem is not Md. Md. has cooperated from day one with the BBNT. Georgetown did finally express interest this winter after 10 seasons of not being interested in competing in an event that benefits local charities, but then made so many unreasonable demands, that the Children's Charity Foundation was forced to abandon the negotiations. We would all love to see a local tournament.

We would all love to see a local tournament. John Feinstein is the biggest money-shark in America. He can scream charity all he wants. But he can't make the money HE wants to make off the tournament without G'town. I can't believe the fat lard still is mad that JT2 wouldn't let Feinstein do a book on him, and he still can't say a good thing about G'town. What a fruitcake!!? All John Feinstein cares about is making money for himself. And when we didn't let his fat greasy paws rub all over our basketball program just so he can write a book or have a BB&T basketball tournament, his big Ego is crushed and he still can't live it down.

I didn't think so.

First, he did not answer my question. Second, he went on and did the very thing I accused him of (repeatedly ripping G-town). Third, it appears that I did get his panties in a bunch, as I intended. He just refuses to see what a hypocrite he is. Those in glass houses . . . well, you know.
