Is it just me or do you really like the way the the BET seedings are currently playing out? Getting the winner of Providence or a St. John's team without Stephenson to start, then possibly Cuse again (I think they'd beat Pitt) or a shot at revenge vs. the up-and-down Panthers? And the fact we wouldn't see Louisville or Marquette until the finals? Lance Stephenson?

Is it correct that if we win one of our next two we will be the one seed?

Is it correct that if we win one of our next two we will be the one seed? I believe that is correct, so long as Marquette beats Rutgers tonight. If that happens, we just need 1 of 2 to clinch the #1 seed no matter what anyone else does.

I assume a tie with Louisville alone would mess up the tie breaker so they would have the #1 seed?

Why don't we want Marquette to get another loss?

KC is wrong. If we go 1-1, we are the top seed regardless of what everyone else does. Feel free to root against Marquette the rest of the way and Louisville against ND so we can win the league outright even with 1 loss.

Actually I was wrong and BigDog is correct. Where Pitt ends up cant change anything for us now with respect to getting a #1 seed. All we need is 1 win and nothing else matters at this point

Im confused. Why would we be rooting for Marquette tonight? We're not. At this point, we clinch the #1 seed and a share of the regular season title with one more win. We clinch the regular season title if we win two more games OR we win one more game AND both Louisville and Marquette lose one more game.

I haven't looked into this, but if MU wins the last 2 and we go 1-1, why would we be #1 and not MU? Do we have a tiebreaker vs. MU?

Yes. For 2 teams, 1st tiebreaker is head to head record. If that's tied, you go to the 2nd tiebreaker which is record against the next best team (Louisville). Marquette lost their only game to Louisville and we won our only game so we win.
If we are only tied with Louisville, we win the 1st tiebreaker against them.
If all 3 of us tie, we win because we have the best record in the min-conference (2-1 whereas Marquette is 1-2 and Louisville is 1-1).

Marquette looks like team Jekyll and Hyde, depending upon where they play. Down 10 at the half to Rutgers. So if Marquette loses today and we win tomorrow, we clinch the 1 seed, and Louisville will be locked into the 2 seed.

They haven't exactly dominated neutral floors this year either.
