That has to be one of the most painful ways to lose a game. Ouch.

It's the next morning and I'm still not sure. Overall, it's really hard to argue against the fact that the best team won the Cup. Chicago was the best team all season, for most of the playoffs (minus a couple of games that put them behind the 8 ball against Detroit), and for probably four out of the six games in the finals. They were not better in Game 1, which they stole, but were better in Game 2, which the Bruins stole. The Bruins smoked 'em in Game 3, but Chicago was clearly better in 4 and 5. Six was pretty even after the Bruins furious start. It was such a good series though, it really deserved a Game 7, so that's too bad. But the Bruins downfall last night was the same as it was the two previous games. Defense was not doing its job in front of the net when it counted most. Pretty much as simple as that.

Tough bounce on the winning goal, but the B's acquitted themselves very well this spring. No dog in the fight (I don't root for a pro hockey team, I'm an Islander fan), just glad to see a well-played (and highly watched) series.

Unreal is right. Amazing what these guys play through. And probably not a good idea, but that's a different discussion. While this takes the cake, and probably by quite a long way, it'd be interesting to see the list of injuries for both teams that made it to the Finals.
