Liz Clarke tweeted that Greg is out today for violating a team rule.

That certainly opens up the opportunity for DSR or Jabril to start at the 2.

CRAP! That sucks! not just because it hurts the team, but this is the first time under JT3 that we've heard of a player being suspended for violating team rules to my knowledge. Hope he learns his lesson.

Ouch. Makes a tough game all the harder.
Let's hope Whitt realizes what the impact is.

Markel was benched for some reason last year but can't remember if it was for a full game or the exact reason although he didn't listen to JT3 the game before about playing D at the end.

was it the rule that says every now and then a guard has to shoot the wide open three or the rule that says offense means trying to score?

Markel was benched for the entire Villanova game. In the previous game he disrespected JTIiii and wasn't listening to him IIRC. We went on to destroy Villanova with Starks suspended and Starks got the message.

This could be a positive. Wake up call for player and team.

Let's hope it is a one time issue. The kid has a big future if he wants it and works hard.

Greg not making the trip concerns me. Did he not even make the trip? I'm sure there is a reason and hopefully Greg will take care of it quickly.

Could be worse. James Southerland of Syracuse (Their second leading scorer) was just ruled academically inelligible indefinitely.

Greg not making the trip concerns me. *shrug* Not speculating, but in terms of a relatively innocuous explanation: if a player were to have, say, missed a study hall or tutoring session, I think a perfectly appropriate response would be to leave him in DC and spend a Saturday under the tender care and tutelage of Kim Curry.

If we had an academically intelligible player, what are the odds that Georgetown would be up front about that? We don't make full public announcements about anything. No, I think we would start with a one-game suspension for a rule violation.

Witt played against PITT, therefore he is academically eligible because clesses had started.
