I'm a Rivals subscriber myself so I get all that material anyway and it is harder for me to tell which stuff is unavailable to everyone else.

His right hook is automatic… If you let him get to that hook over his left shoulder? 2 points
Was dominant yesterday in that game against The Family. They had no answers for him

I got a PM from RDF who was at the event (its in his neck of the woods) and he raved about how good Govan looked. Claimed he is huge in a good way (lost all the baby fat) and looks to be even taller than his listed height. He raved about Derrickson as well but he has been a huge fan of that kid for a long time.

RDF! Good to here he’s around and doing well! Hopefully he got to see MD’s first game when he went for 25. Those hooks rarely even hit rim, and he has a ton of confidence in it. In the high post and in the low block he’s really quick with his decision making and assertive. Caught a couple defenders flat footed and had the hook in the air before they were even set to jump. Also quick/sharp passes out of doubles in the high post or low block. He rim ran consistently got a couple put back dunks on fastbreaks. He just doesn’t waste a lot of time or movement on the offensive end, was really impressive in this area. He didn’t come down and post his man right away like most young bigs do. He’s more intelligent offensively then that. He walks his man down to the low post area and then when the ball is swung in his area, he posts hard and tries to create an angle for the entry. If the ball get’s swung to the other side he flashes hard, hands up, big target. When he does get the touch he doesn’t waste time reading the defense, he already has a plan, quick decisions. He looked really good in that game vs the Family Rodney Miller looked good in that came also.. Was really good protecting the rim. He’s long as hell, and he goes body and hands straight up everytime. Had a bunch of blocks, altered a bunch of shots too. Looked like he could be force on D for sure. On offense he showed some skills, needs to get stronger obviously but he wasn’t really a featured player. Hope were still on him. On screen he looked taller than Govan and Govan does look huge.. Tell Rdf I said Wattup!

William Paxton @wspaxton 11h Jessie Govan picked Georgetown over #UConn because of big men tradition with the Hoyas. Said Ollie NBA talk was non-factor in decision.
George John-Blaise @georgieblaise 10h Team Bravery starting lineup 1 - Justin Simon 1 - Bryant Crawford 6 - Derrick Jones 15 - Jessie Govan 35 - Moustapha Diagne
Patrick Donohue @thee_Pat_D 10h Some early notes from #MKC2014: Bryant Crawford, Moustapha Diagne, and Jessie Govan all looking good in the underclassmen game.
on Rothstein @jonrothstein 9h Georgetown bound Jessie Govan already has a collegiate level face up game. Needs to recalibrate ability to attack the rim. 6-10.
Dan Tortora @calldt 10h #Cuse was surprised at how fast 2015 C Jessie Govan committed to #Georgetown, per my sources. #OrangeNation #CuseNation
DevonTe Brooks @dbrooksbecb 6h 2015 Hoya commit Jessie Govan told @becb_sbn that he will be on campus in June to watch some Kenner league action
Adam Zagoria @adamzagoria 9h Georgetown pledge @jgovan15 has 11 pts and 10 rebs for White w 7 mins left. Great get for Hoyas.

Love reading these tweets. As far as bigs go, we are in very good shape for the foreseeable future.

"Cuse was surprised". Love that, but also wonder whether that can be translated as "still recruiting him".
To the recruiting gurus - what's standard etiquette from rival schools once a kid has verbally committed?

Syracuse and etiquette better not show up in the same sentence.

It happens but very mild compared to College F-Ball for sure… They just signed Mustapha Diagne so they’re probably set Regarding Jessie, If he’s interested in a college with a “History of Big Men” Cuse aint it… haha

I think the etiquette is simple - once a player commits, you can congratulate him and thank him for his interest in your school. Then you have no further contact unless he contacts you first, or re-opens his recruiting.
Of course there are no official rules. And plenty of coaches who don't care about the etiquette.

I think it was Lefty Driesell who once responded to the news of a player committing to another school with, "Now I know who my competition is".

Of course Lefty and etiquette were, at best, passing acquaintances.
