The Opener: EYBL Hampton kicks off with a battle of ranked teams in the D1 Power 10. Team Final will put their new No. 1 ranking to the test against fellow east-coast powerhouse and tenth-ranked New York Lightning. This game is a classic matchup of different playing styles - Team Final likes to get up and down the floor, while the Lightning grind you down and beat you on the defensive end. Team Final's point guard Lamarr Kimble will need to be on his game, as it is his duty to slow down Lightning leader Desure Buie. New York will need to find defensive answers for Levan Alston and Syracuse-commit Malachi Richardson. There may not be a more impressive backcourt scoring duo in the entire league. This game will come down to which team controls the tempo. Averaging 11.8 steals per game, Team Final looks to turn their defense into instant offense. Jessie Govan will have to be on his game in the paint for the Lightning, as Team Final doesn't have anyone on their frontline that can match his size and skill-level. Both programs have a tremendous amount of respect for one another, so this game has all the makings of a classic. Though I have not watched the entire game, it doesn't appear as if Govan has seen the court too much.

I caught the second half. Jessie got two touches in the post and was triple teamed instantly by team Final. He forced the situation both time resulting in two missed hook shots. He got the hook right then in favour of Rodney Miller the backup centre. Lightning have a nice luxury there with another 2016 Hoya target. This would likely explain why Govan averages so few minutes for a top 30 talent.

You do realize, my man, that you are dropping links to Rivals material that I believe is exclusive only to those who have paid subscriptions? I don't think any of the Rivals' writeups are available to the public.

Ooops. My bad. I thought the non-subscribers were getting linked to material they wouldn't even been able to view.
