Of course, it is obligatory for me to say I am worried only about our next game vs. Marquette, we need to take it one game at a time...
But that said, despite our #15 ranking and 10-1 record, I think we are still a little unproven at this point. We have had some shaky performances, especially offensively, that we were fortunate to be able to turn into wins. Our schedule has actually turned out to be pretty subpar so far - UCLA and Texas were not as good as advertised, and we weren't able to finish the Florida game. According to Warren Nolan, we have had the 179th most difficult strength of schedule. Also, while still early, we have only had one game against the top 50 in the RPI, and we lost it, to Indiana. And our depth issues have been well documented here.
So, I hope the team comes to play vs. Marquette with a chip on its shoulder, because it does still have a lot to prove. And anything can happen in conference play, that's what makes it so exciting.
I have faith, but we have a long ways to go... Go Hoyas in 2013!

Yeah one game at a time especially since our first two games of these next 5 are the toughest of the 5. Can't overlook Marquette and especially not Pittsburgh. Pitt was down last year and still beat us. They're a lot better this year. Their computer numbers are very impressive. I really want to win that game as it's probably the last time we play them for quite a while. But first Marquette. I hope the team comes out of this lay off better than ever and kicks some ass in Milwaukee.

Anyone worried that we have played zero road games?

A little, but IU @ Barclays was close. Very unfriendly.

Anyone worried that we have played zero road games? Good point, was thinking about that too. Marquette is not an easy place for your first true road game. Not sure if their students will be back, but I think they have a such a strong local fanbase among students and alumni that it may not matter. Hope the Hoyas rise to the challenge.

What will be especially weird is that this will be the first time they have the edge inside against us. Gardner is a load, Wilson, Otule, Anderson are all athletic bigs. Dude that worries me the most cause he is such a wildcard is Trent Lockett(transfer from AZ st) He can have a big game at any time. He is the epitome of talented inconsistent player. Looks like a 1st round pick sometimes and like he has kryptonite in his pocket others.

Marquette always scares me. They really get up to play us. Based on their past track record against us, they seem to be able to read us pretty well.

Yeah luckily their students will be on break. Also we really don't rely on freshman at all so i'm not too concerned about not having any road games so far. I mean it's not like the older guys forgot what it's like to play on the road. It's one of those things that's nice in theory, but I doubt plays that much of a factor in reality. I mean Duke hasn't played any road games either. I doubt their fans are concerned.

The students are on break, but Marquette has an overall great crowd, and probably a fair number of local students that will make it out.
So far, though, this team seems to play better away from Verizon, so I hope that streak continues.

I believe in one game at a time. Marquette is a loss unless there is a miracle. Currently a candidate for the toughest place to play in the BE - and that includes The Juicer.
