What position is he playing for them? PF?
I hope we do get to see more of the end of the bench. As someone today mentioned that it should always have been a freshman and 4 of the top 7, against Towson we should only need 3 of our top 7 on the court and get some of the younger players/projects more PT.
Now that we will see Bolden, I wonder what he will be able to do for us. Maybe on Saturday we will see time with 2 of our bigs on the floor, even Hop at the 4? No matter how many of them play, I hope the bench gets major minutes, even just as continued rest for our top 7.

PF. He's a high usage player for Towson who has played tough against the comp he's faced. He has rebounded well, and he draws a lot of fouls. Still turns it over too much.

what do you think the fan reaction WILL be to benimon? students wont remember im guessing but most of the fans will. will people respectfully clap? ignore it all together? boo?
what SHOULD the reaction be?
Personally - I'll clap for the kid during introductions. Granted I HATED him when he was here and said so many times on this board. I was happy when he left. BUT he was a hoya - and tried his best. he was just had no business playing big time minutes on a BE team.
Thoughts?

I would say a small applause. Look I was no benimon fan, but the fact is he was a hard nosed player who went out and gave his all every night. Yes, he had no business playing in the big east and still to this day I have no idea why JTIII gave him a schholorship. but he is a good kid and played his hardest. He just was not a BE player.

Why on earth would anyone boo? I mean honestly. From what I saw in print, none of his comments were negative, and he transferred to Towson, not Syracuse. I don't know even why this is even a question. If anyone remembers him, he should get a standing ovation out of respect.

He played poorly because he was a poor player. I hope he actually does relatively well against us, so long as he gets a shot or two sent into the stands. A missed alley-oop over him would be icing on the cake.

i don't want him to score a point. not liking your situation at a school and transferring is fine but to come out and blame your crap play on the system? please.

Wanting to dunk on someone isn't mean spirited, I just want the guys to be competitive. He an undersized PF and I just want to see our guys be aggressive.

I understand your reaction, but actually, he is telling the truth. The kid played very hard at all times with the Hoyas and has obviously now found a system in which he can contribute. However, there is no question that with his skill set and size, he was the wrong fit for the Hoya system. As to why JT III gave him a scholarship, it was probably a combination of missing out unexpectedly in recruting on some other "bigs" and desperately needing some size to go with what was a relatively small team. Simms was still not contributing and Vaughn was also limited. I hope thta he does well--just not Saturday.

Benimon has already made more 3ptFG this year (3) than during his two years with the Hoyas (2). He's scored 101 points in 5 games on 32-65 shooting (49.2%). He currently leads the team in scoring (14.4 ppg) and rebounding (9.9 rpg).
Towson's losses so far this year: UMBC, Loyala-MD, and E. KY. They're playing the Vermont Catamounts tonight at 7.
Over/under on how many students make it out for this one? I'm going with 1000.

Im glad Coach focused on the "work in progress" aspect of last night's game. It wasnt pretty. I think we played tremendous defense, but the offensive flow was never there and we looked very out of sorts against the zone. Plus, let's face it, that game was a lot about how Texas was awful.
i dont think we will get a tremendous challenge in these next four games, but I thought that about Liberty and Mount St Mary's, too. Stay focused! Because right after the holidays, we play Marquette and Pittsburgh.

I don't think people SHOULD boo - but I wouldn't put it past some of the more 'emotional' fans. Either because he wasn't talented enough for the mins he got or because he 'trashed' the system when he left. I'm saying it isn't out of the realm of possibilities for people to boo.

I say Hoyas by 30. Applaud the guy as he worked hard when here and filled a hole for a season or two. He just didn't have the talent to stick, no need to be sour on him.

Cut the kid a break, he was the odd man out, if you had a chance to play for the HOYAS, wouldn't you take the scholie? He did, he tried and it didn't work out. Give him a standing ovation when he is announced, he deserves it.
