After just watching him play in limited minutes, Im not sure the young man would of made out better by staying in High School another year. I thought the report on him was he was a dead eye shooter, this kid doesnt even look like he knows how to shoot a jump shot, feet not set, body not squared. IDK about this one

Shot just needs some confidence… Playing in a weak private school league in Nor Cal probably wouldn’t have helped his development much, especially since he basically plays center for them.. He would get a year for his body to develop but better for him to go against tougher comp in order to improve his game. I hear what you’re saying though...

He's young and has a big adjustment to make in terms of the speed and size of college players. Give him a chance. JT3 sees enough in practice to put him on the floor.
One thing I will say about Domingo, he is way bigger than I thought he would be at this point. Compared to Whitt or Otto as fresh, he looks stronger, at least in his upper body.

He'll be fine. At this point he looks nervous. After a couple of cupcakes and a couple of made threes...he'll settle down.

He's rushing his shot, no big surprise for a young kid playing against some major competition. He is trying to be active, just does not know how yet. I don't expect him to be a major contributor this season, but I think he will give us a few minutes, a few points here and there, and a little rest for the starters as the season grinds on. He would be glued to the bench if Coach did not feel he could contribute(e.g. Bowen and Vee as freshmen).

Let's ease up on the guy. He was pretty much in only because of the combination of foul trouble and hope for chucking up some 3s at the end to keep the game going.

He'll hit a big shot for us before the season is over. Give him time.

He's hesitating right now because he's used to having the green light to shoot but now realizes he's the 5th option on offense on top of trying to take some time off the clock in the Princeton Offense. So he's passing up wide open shots on catch and shoots early in the shot clock and then rushing shots late in the shot clock.
It will work itself out.
He also needs some time adjusting to big arenas with huge crowds instead of little gyms. All of this would be easier if he was getting extended minutes but he's getting 2, 3 minutes here a game. Hopefully they play him, DSR, and Moses more against weaker teams.

I agree, he should be in high school or prep school. I guess JT3 told him he would not redshirt him if he came this season, but that would have been the other option. He just looks like he is going to waste his freshman year playing sparingly he or there. I am sure his shot will come around when he feels more comfortable, but there are so many other things he needs to be able to do on the court at this level.

My assumption is that if Domingo was struggling this badly in practice, he'd never get in the game. So I think it's reasonable to believe that it is still a case of nerves at this point. We'll probably know a lot more about what he can really do during the weaker December games.

Domingo looked young and nervous. All perfectly understandable. I have to believe his shot is going to come and it won't be the never-ending story about how Nikita can shoot the lights out of the gym. Domingo's pedigree is too good and I have too much faith in JT3 to believe that what we've seen thus far is a true indication of what he will contribute for the rest over the rest of the season. Let's show a little faith.

If domingo has stayed in HS who would have played the few minutes he had to last night? Allen? Caprio?
He needs to get better, but he is 17 (18?). Id rather have him getting better at gtown than at his HS, it work well for hollis.

I know that Domingo played in a so-so league in HS but I assumed that his playing for the USA Team had prepared him for the bright lights. From what I read over the summer, after Parker went down, Domingo was pretty much option 1 or 2 for the team. Luckily we have Whitt as an example of a kid calming down during his freshman year. If we can just get his J by mid BE schedule, we will be scary................

Id rather have him getting better at gtown than at his HS, it work well for hollis. If he had stayed in High School his ranking would have gone up and we probably wouldn't have got him. It already went up after his US Team efforts but he had already signed with us. We basically snagged him before other schools started to do notice. That's what we have to do since we aren't Kentucky.

This year, Domingo has played the following number of minutes:
Duquesne: 5 Liberty: 19 UCLA: 4 Indiana: 4
So basically, people here are ready to ship Domingo back to high school because of his performance in 32 minutes (over half of which was against Liberty, a game where the whole team struggled, but Domingo was 2-5) of basketball. I admit that Domingo has looked shaky, but we need to give him a chance.
In contrast, these were Hollis Thompson's minutes/stats in his first four games:
Tulane: 15 minutes, 1-4 FG, 0-2 3PT Temple: 23 minutes, 1-3 FG, 0-2 3PT Savannah State: 20 minutes, 1-2 FG, 0-1 3PT Lafayette: 22 minutes, 6-6 FG, 4-4 3PT
Obviously, Hollis Thompson broke out against Lafayette, but he struggled to contribute on offense in his first three games, as well. Also, the two games where Domingo seemed to struggle the most were against the #1 and #11 ranked team. While Hollis' breakout performance was impressive, Lafayette wasn't exactly a defensive powerhouse, either.
My point is: give the kid a chance. If not for DSR's great performance against Duquesne, many on this board would probably be shipping him back to high school, too.

I'm glad he came this year. That being said, if you are a pure shooter you shouldnt be airballing free throws just out of nerves. Its a little surprising to me that he has bricked every shot he's taken so far as a Hoya.
The concerning thing is that he's playing over Moses, Hayes and Bolden. Those guys must be showing nothing in practice if they arent getting minutes against Indiana when our bigs are fouled out.

Domingo is ready ...he doesn't too many shots he's very dangerous and a streaky shooter ...it's only been three games he done better than not ...he along with teammates are the reason's why their so good...I'm sure he's very coachable and practices and works on his game a bunch...when you start seeing deadly 3's drop from all over just get back with me...Games I watching look pretty good to me ...he'll pull up more ...great pump fake & dribble knockdown...
