I was a first time donor to Georgetown football last year. I hate to say it, but this year, I will not be donating. I hope you will reconsider. The only way this program competes as the square peg in the scholarship PL is to better fund the program so that kids can actually afford to come and play at Georgetown. But I will say this: if you choose not to give, staying silent makes zero impact, because in the fundraising business, a donor who doesn't give is simply someone who hasn't got around to giving yet. Someone that sincerely chooses not to give needs to express to all appropriate contacts at Georgetown exactly why you do (or will) not give and clarify the issue in need of resolution, be that coaching, communications, the need to charge $9.95 for a video feed that buffers out at halftime, the ramshackle MSF, etc. If you don't speak up, you should not expect a response in return.

I have to agree with DFW Hoya. There needs to be accountability. I think that starts with the offensive coordinator. The play calling reminded me of the 0-11 season when the opposing team's fans would call our plays out from the stands. No creativity at all. And, I have to agree with CAHoya07. I will not be donating again either. I had an interest in following the team and watching a few games, even though my son graduated last year. I still know some of the players and wanted them to have a good year. But, the Athletic Dept. treated fans who lived too far away to come to the games in person like we did not exist. My son's high school put out better video quality for their games and they do not try to rip people off for $9.95. The quality is a disgrace and the AD should be held accountable.

Not to pile on too much but the video/audio was pretty bad....missed a LOT of the game whilst it buffered.

And who has hired both Miceli (and held onto him until he moved to another job) and Marino? We stumbled into a good hire with Patenaude and then got back to the same ole same old.

DFW, I have donated to the school and the team the last 4 years. Since the first game I tried to watch on All Access in 2008, I have politely asked, emailed the AD and called the AD about the quality of the video broadcast. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to watch your son play with video quality like it is. I was even assured by the AD that the quality would get better. No such luck. I felt like I was lied to for 4 years. If the Athletic Dept. is not interested in maintaining its' fan base for the team, I am not interested in supporting the Athletic Dept.

Just returned to my hotel from MSF, nothing positive about today.
Our team was unprepared, and uninspired. The game plan was horrible, no adjustments made at halftime, same old, same old.
If you elect not to contribute to the program going forward, that's your choice. But why poison the well, There are players, their parents and alums that have a vested interest in the program.
Great strides have been made by the Gridiron Club in organization and fund raising. Most recently, a group of parents, past and present, launched a $ 100,000. challenge to increase donor participation and to expand the base.
Yes, this was not the season we all expected, we can only hope for a brighter tomorrow.
If you wish to opt out, do so silently.

I think DFW's respose is the correct one. And, if Bruce asked me for a donation, I would probably give it to him.

Anyone know why there was such a carrousel at QB in this game? Why was the offense so ineffective? I didn't listen to the entire game, soooo what gives? Not a fun way to end the year. Reminds me of 2004. [/quote I atttended the game ans this is Just my opinion: The coaches are clueless, clearly had no idea what they were doing or what to do on the O side of the ball.....one of the worst I have ever seen!

Just a side note to that: Holy Cross sponsored a tailgate after the game for their seniors just like GU did and the HC spread 7 hours away from home was more impressive than GU's!! wow

Just received an exceptional fund raising call from a young man on the club soccer team raising money for the Gridiron Club explaining the new fund raising program. Obviously I could not rant about my frustration with the AD as detailed in my previous rants on this board. Well done. My credit card # was given. Hopefully, the football players support in the fund raising for the club sports.

To be clear, football fundraising and club sports fundraising are completely separate from one another (club sports are not even part of the athletic department, so gifts to a club sport do not count for Hoyas Unlimited giving).
Generally speaking, club sports do not raise money outside their team members because they lack any records on alumni participation and the Georgetown bureaucracy limits their access to same.
