Yeah can someone clarify the rule for me. I thought you couldnt have dedicated dorms for athletes, and only for athletes that were markedly different or better than those available to non-athlete students. Also, Memphis had a similar thing when Cal was there too.

They get around this by saying that half the dorm is occupied by Non athletes. It's not like Georgetown basketball players don't get special treatment. The freshman live in Copley an upperclassman dorm.

Seems to me that the bigger travesty is the shirt that PT Barnum is wearing. He must have a Tommy Bahama sponsorship I don't know about.

Calipari makes a compete mockery of the rules. How anyone chooses anywhere else other than UK if Cal sets his sights on you is beyond me. Amateurism my foot.

The freshman live in Copley an upperclassman dorm. They live on Copley now? Braswell was definitely in the freshman dorms when I was a freshman, and I lived in Copley with upperclassman players my sophomore year, but I don't recall the freshman players being there. This must have changed at some point?

There is a HUGE difference between basketball frosh living in upperclass housing (an old dorm, at that) in rooms that everyone else lives in and the entire basketball team living in a state-of-the-art "dorm" that caters to their every need. Each player has a single bedroom with their name on a beautiful plaque next to the door. Must I remind you that national champions don't have roommates?
I'm sure the "1/2 non-athletic students" are crammed up on the top floor in triples.

Of course there's a huge difference, but there's nothing stopping us from doing the same thing.( You know besides a complete lack of funds to do so.)

They also only live in Copley freshman year. After that the best housing they can get is the basketball townhouse which is just like any other. I think the difference is between raising the minimum level of housing vs creating a new luxury level.
But HSB is right. The only thing stopping Gtown from doing the same thing is funding and getting the OK from the various boards and groups. If Gtown did do it I wouldnt be too happy about it intellectually, but probably wouldnt be asking about rules violations; pragmatically I would be happy because it helps with recruiting.

More than enough thoroughbred and bourbon booster money available to cover section 10.
