"Everybody loves a winner, right?" Kelly said after a recent intrasquad scrimmage. "All the sudden you kind of went from being dumb to being smart. That's the coaching profession. Really, the difference is, to be quite frank with you, we've got better players than we did in years past."
I guess being Coach of the Year frees you up to speak your mind haha. He's not wrong, though.

Forgot to mention we had a REAL offensive coordinator too last couple years. That's quite a difference too. It will be interesting how this team transitions into the 'same' system.

Definitely helpful to have a decent offensive coordinator. Still have to see if Marino is any good. He wasn't a world beater at Columbia.
And man, talk about revisionist history. Kelly "withdrew" from the Yale coaching search? I guess thats one way to put it.

Haha, yea, the failure to mention a certain OC who ran the world's most predictable offense did strike me.

Haha, yea, the failure to mention a certain OC who ran the world's most predictable offense did strike me. I was shocked the first time I saw Georgetown throw the ball forward across the line of scrimmage. It was two years after I had graduated.
