That would require III winning a recruiting battle for a McDAA player. That hasn't happened since Monroe.

The potential is incredible with Domingo, Cameron, GW, DSR and Markel; all are able to stroke the 3 well. Gotta get post play to free them up. True but that could be a problem as well. The WSJ did a breakdown of teams that have won it all over the past decade or two and it turns out that squads that depend on three-pointers for 30% or more of their baskets don't win it all. Does anyone know where GU stands on that front? I would guess it would have to at least be 30% but I could be dead wrong.

I'd be more interesting in how teams that depend on three points do in the first weekend of the tournament. We aren't winning it all next year so I'm not sure that matters.

That would require III winning a recruiting battle for a McDAA player. That hasn't happened since Monroe. And yet we got Otto, who has turned out to be better than virtually every McD's AA from that season. Who'd a thunk it??

McGary never considered us, but MD almost got him.

I'd rather have Josh and Bentil then Robinson for '14 and Thomas for '15.

That would require III winning a recruiting battle for a McDAA player. That hasn't happened since Monroe. McGary was about a 26 RSCI, which could make the McD game, but didn't. While technically that would be the highest RSCI since Monroe for the Hoyas, it's just 8 above Otto Porter's 34 and 11 above DSR's 37. And overall, Georgetown's team had a lot more RSCI talent than Michigan, since most of their players were actually unheralded.

This yr, 27.4% of our points came from three, #181 out of 347. Since our FF run, we have been above 30% only once. In 2008, 34.1% came from 3. Our percentage of points is generally mid to high 20's. I don't have the breakdown in terms of made baskets.

The only reason he didn't make the McD game was because he was a 5th year so was not eligible

MCDAA or MCDAA-level player, it does not matter. what matters is that we are not winning the recruiting battles for players that are highly rated. otto was a special exception under special circumstances under the relationship between kirby and sr. if kirby was not with us, he woulda gone either missouri or kansas.
our post-season debacle will not help gettin any of those top recruits. even if duke or kansas or kentucky stink one year and do not make it into tourney/exit tournament, they still have far better brand + facility than us to lure those top lvl recruits.
we really need to break this chain - i will gladly take the unheralded guys who can play in post season like the ones from FGFU over MCDAA who cant' lead us beyond first weekend.

Hopefully, Cameron can develop into a Luck Hancock type player for us. A good comp for anyone who has seen him play?

Dennis Scott. That's high praise. The G Tech Dennis Scott was the best player in the country when he was a junior. You might mean the Orlando Magic D Scott
