I've watched the kid for three years. He is a good kid, but hasn't gotten better. He is what he has been and I would pass. He's a mid major kid to me.

he's more of a two, but could run the point in a pinch. too thin for the BE. Disappeared too much in this season's playoffs. His teams always make it, but are usually bounced in regionals, which is prolly more of an indication of his coaches.

FWIW ID .. this kid is blowing up and getting interest from the Bigger schools now. He's moving to the DMV for his Sr. year. Do you think his game has picked up or is he just a better player in the AAU setting?
"Mostella, who is originally from Decatur, Ala., will make the move to New Hope Academy in Landover Hills, Md., for his senior year."

I saw that kruk. Haven't seen him since the state playoffs. I've watched him strictly in a HS setting. He plays for southeast elite, which I believe is an unaffiliated (shoe wise) aau team here and run by Mark Komara. Komara has ties to everywhere, but its always tough getting kids out of Alabama. That said, this is a show n prove year for Detrick; as he needs to blow up and reach his potential. The move north may help as I felt his coaching during his three years here was poor. To me he's a combo that disappears too much.

fwiw, I could walk to new hope academy from the house I grew up in and where my mom and dad still live today. Two blocks away. Right off of 450.

Saxa, grew up in DC and then Landover Hills. Moved to Bama in '89 for college and have been here ever since.

Interesting. I don't know a lot about this kid. By all accounts, he's an undersized 2-guard with outstanding quickness, a great motor, and a questionable jumper. Fairly highly rated too.
Roddy Peters sounds better to me with the point guard skills, but a guy of Mostella's caliber wouldn't be a bad consolation prize.

he's good. Wiry strong. can score. haven't seen peters live. interestingly, Kansas is now recruiting peters as well. This recruiting thing is tough vs. Big State U.

Agreed Zeke....reminds be some of JC, think he's got better form and more lift on his shot. Would look good in Hoya blue.
