Used to go to St Pats so I guess that answers the question in the other thread about who was in the St Pats warmup… ny2lasports.com/article_one.aspx?articleid=1261Furthermore, Nickens has had opportunities to take visits to Providence, Temple, St. Joe’s and VCU, as well as Georgetown who he will visit again this weekend when they take on Rutgers. “I liked Georgetown a lot… I liked the mixture on campus with the college life and city life together,” the talented wing player mentioned about his previous visit there. Nickens will also try to take more visits to schools after April, though he’s not sure where to yet. The schools he looks at he hopes will have high standards, good academics and a basketball program that feels like a family when he’s around them. Areas of the game Nickens is looking to refine are his moves on the offensive attack. “Using less dribbles to get all the way to basket, rebounding, and becoming a great 1-dribble or 2-dribble shooter pulling-up.” Competing once again with Sports U-Team Izod, Nickens will have the chances to develop his game further, while hopefully winning some big games/tournaments. “I feel like we’re going to be good again ‘cause we have a lot of young talent with guys like Wade Baldwin and Quadri Moore – high-major guys – that I feel we can combine with well this year.” Sports U-Team Izod is certain to be relevant again during the 2013 AAU circuit and Nickens will be looked at to lead the group.

His shooting stroke reminds me of Hollis Thompson & he seems to move very well without the ball.. Corny intro but nice highlights.. insider.espn.go.com/college-sports/basketball/recruiting/player/evaluation/_/id/165265/jared-nickensStrengths: He's a swingman with good size and long arms who specializes in knocking shots down from the perimeter. He has a good understanding of how to come off screens to free himself and a high/quick release that doesn't require much separation for him to get his shot off. He's also a valuable secondary ball-handler and capable mid-range scorer.I really like where the staff is going with their recruiting blueprint. Booth, Wiley, Robinson & Nickens all seem to be 6'-4" to 6'-6" kids with length who can shoot the ball very well from 3. I get that Booth & Wiley are higher on the priority scale to most folks and I like Booth a lot but from the clips I've seen of all them both Robinson & Nickens are better shooters imho. Since JT3's system puts a premium on shooting I'd be happy with any of them. Maybe Nickens can improve like Andrew White did in his reclassification year..

Maybe Nickens can improve like Andrew White did in his reclassification year..Looks like Nickens did make major strides in his game.. recruitscoop.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1497876Last year at this time, Jared Nickens was in the class of 2013 and was the pure shooter for Sports U. A year later, he has reclassified to 2014, transferred to Westtown (PA), and has refined his game in a variety of ways. He's still with Sports U, and he can still shoot, but now Nickens is far and beyond capable of what he was able to do before.
Now able to take players off the dribble to use his pull up jumper, or slash to the basket, Nickens is much more athletic. His handle has improved dramatically. He is much more versatile. Nickens has made a major transition in his game to the surprise of many.
He lists offers from Oregon State, Temple, Providence, St. Joseph's and Seton Hall, with interest from Oklahoma, Dayton, Miami, Georgetown and St. John's. Oregon State is recruiting him the hardest and is doing a strategical job of seeing him this spring. Between last weeks in-home visit with Craig Robinson, watching him during the live period the next two weeks, and his official visit the first weekend of May, it will be tough to beat the Beavers for the 2014 wing prospect.@jeffborzello Sports U and Team Loaded was the perfect way to end a 13-hour day of AAU hoops. Sports U won it on a 3 by Jared Nickens with 3 secs left.

Repeat Offenders
For the second straight year, Sports U captured the event title in the oldest age group. Much of the team's success can be credited to the play of talented wing Jared Nickens.
A 6-foot-7 offensive machine who can play either the shooting guard or small forward spot, Nickens is a pure shooter with great size for the wing. While he loves to shoot the ball from deep, Nickens is capable of being an offensive threat from all three levels. He showed a tight handle and the ability to creatively attack the rim in half court or transition settings.
Nickens might be too thin to make an impact at the college level right away, but his size, shooting ability, athleticism and overall offensive skill set had college coaches buzzing, with many believing that he was the top performer in the entire senior-to-be age group.
Rivals.com's Alex Kline reported that Nickens listed Oregon State, Temple, Providence, Dayton, Seton Hall, Saint Joe, Oklahoma, Miami (Fla.), Georgetown and St. John as the schools most involved in his recruitment.

I'd offer him before visit to Oregon State.
Give him something to think about.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/national/post?id=6423Most Improved Jared Nickens (Monmouth Junction, N.J./Westtown) 2014, 6-6, 190, G/F Offers: Oregon State, Providence, Seton Hall, St. Joseph’s and Temple. This was the second straight Pittsburgh Jam Fest championship for Nickens and Sports U, but his role has evolved quite a bit in the last twelve months. A year ago he was a pretty one-dimensional scorer. His long and lean build intrigued you, but his role was essentially to space the floor and make defenders pay for helping off him. While his jumper is still his primary weapon, he’s become one of the primary playmakers for this team. He’s put on some bulk, improved his handle and now features a runner in the lane – three facets that should make him more lethal against rotating defenders. Add in his ability to make tough shots -- like the game winner he knocked down on Saturday -- and his contributions to the team’s second title was notably more than the first.

Pitt Jam Fest Standouts:
Jared Nickens, 6’-7” – 2014 SG, Sports U Izod, Westtown HS (PA)
Over a three day span, Nickens was the most impressive player for the tournament champions. One of the many tall and lengthy wings in the tournament, Nickens possessed the best ability to score at all three levels in the 17U age group. He knocked down deep threes with consistency, showed a soft touch on his mid-range jump shots, and finished above the rim with ease when around the basket. With a game similar to that of Rashad Vaughn, Nickens churned out impressive game after game in Pittsburgh. Nickens will need to add some weight to his frame in the future, but for now he proved to be one of the top scorers on the Under Armour circuit.
