Goes to my rival hs so I say lets not take him. Kidding aside the basketball in our league is a joke competition wise. Aside from McAdoo and a few kids going to VMI, American every other year there's not much to speak of. Hopefully they play against most of the public schools in the area to get a better gauge on his game

Does anyone know if he's here or at MD first? Lots of local talent in '14, it will be exciting to see the staff make priorities. I like our chances with this kid (plays for Boo Williams even though Williams-Flourny left for Auburn) if we press

The women's coach leaving has nothing to do with Boo Williams connection to georgetown. It helped her get a job at Georgetown more then she can help with recruits. She was Troy Williams aunt--but Alonzo Mourning and Allen Iverson both played for Boo Williams-as did Vernon Macklin and Chris Wright prior to his SR year.

"nothing to do with Boo" you can't be serious. it certainly doesn't kill our chances with kids from BW (hence why I said we can still get Hall) but it hurts. Obviously there are many other factors but that got our foot in the door with some of their kids IMO
anyway I heard that Hall visited Maryland first but the head coach wasn't even there to see him this weekend. Hopefully we got JTIII to show him the love the Terps didn't!

Here's an easier translation of what I wrote above (thought my last post made sense) Boo Williams has a relationship with the Georgetown program that goes far beyond his sister being the women's coach. It doesn't matter that she left--Georgetown can still land Boo Williams players. The relationship helped his sister more then Georgetown. Hoyas did right by Zo and AI and Macklin and Chris Wright, hell Milton Bell played with Boo Williams too, so I think you are overstating the significance of his sister leaving and how it effects the Hoyas chances with Boo players. If this doesn't make sense, someone else can have a shot at explaining how you are placing far too much significance on the departure of Williams-Flournoy.

Hopefully we got JTIII to show him the love the Terps didn't! Williams Flournoy did not land us, or even get us in the door with any Boo Williams recruit who wasn't related to her. BW and Georgetown's relationship existed long before TWF and, if anything, it helped her get the Georgetown job. You're confusing Boo Williams players in general with Troy Williams. And TWF may have helped with Troy, but that's only because he was related to her, not because he played for BW. And not all BW players are related to TWF.

RDF, we seem to both know that Boo has been good to us in the past and will continue to produce players we'll recruit in the future. No one has said that door is closed due to our women's coach's departure, BTW. One of us is saying it has a 0% effect, however, which I believe is incorrect. That's all. Again, I think we're in great position with Hall here and would love to have a guard like him on the roster.
It's not like losing Cox shut us out of DCA, but recruiting is all about connections. People like Cox or Williams-Flournoy can serve to strengthen relationships to bountiful AAU squads, but that does not guarantee players will come here. Just gives us a better shot, and I think we'll see that this edge has been lost.

This would be nice if we don't land Jordan

Cox was a coach for the men's team and recruited for the men's team, which made his connections with the DCA coaches and kids useful. TWF was a coach for the women's team, recruited for the women's team, and doesn't have close ties to anyone but Boo.
