Interesting. But going to assume this was through Kirby and since MSU has a ton, A TON of playing time available - likely headed there.

Borchert seemed like a "just in case" recruit-like just in case a kid transferred, or just in case Porter changed his mind and went Pro.....and with Kirby gone--the writing was on the wall. MSU had playing time to offer--he went to JC in Mississippi, so not a surprise at all.
