Western Michigan at Marquette: 3,181
Holy Cross at Notre Dame: 2,517
Miami at South Carolina: 6,307
Temple at Virginia Tech: 7,416
DePaul at Missouri: 5,997
The Notre Dame attendance was really pretty pitiful. Marquette was pretty horrible as well. I saw the end of the Virginia Tech game and their crowd looked pretty good and excited.

Pretty pathetic. I mean, I understand being Editeded about your team not making the tournament. But failing to support your team after that? I think it also has something to do with season ticketholders having to pay extra for a game. The ticketing process doesn't seem all that efficient. I really hope we can get a decent turnout tom night. Georgetown fans, show your stuff.

I really hope we can get a decent turnout tom night. Georgetown fans, show your stuff. Agreed. Also applies to students as well. I know the Notre Dame fans on their board aren't exactly pleased with the poor turnout by students and non-students alike at the JCC tonight. And the student tickets were only $4 for ND's game, as opposed to $10 for ours tomorrow if memory serves (wish I could be there to help the attendance number). It's a tough situation, being a hastily scheduled deal that you have to pay extra for (I got the impression somehow that ND basketball student tickets are free). Plus, for teams like ND, there's a sour taste from being there in the first place. I'm sure some of these factors will come into play tomorrow as well. Although the one that should be LEAST likely is the last one I mentioned. I know we were looking for a while like an NCAA team, but being one of the "big 4" informally in the NIT ain't bad for the young team we've got, and I think our student fans are appreciative of the team and mindful enough of the situation that they'll show up nice.

After all the bitchin' & complaining the last few years, if the fans don't get out to support the team after what has gone on this year - it will really be sad. Also, looking at those attendance figures - some of them are very McDonough like.

(I got the impression somehow that ND basketball student tickets are free). Not the case.

ND was pretty low, but I think 6,000 is all you can ask for on a single day notice. I mean so people have lives outside of wating to see when you might play and NIT game at home during the early part of a week.
If we get 6,000 I'd be surprised. It's hard to gather momentum that quickly. Add in the fact that the game isn't against a "name" opponent (read: from a major conference) and I don't think you'll get much in terms of walk-up.
It comes down to teh season ticket base and frankly ours is pretty darn low.

Not to be a buzzkill, but I'll be shocked if we get over 3,000. And we'll only hit that if 3,000 students show up. I just can't see many other butts in the seat for a GU-BU matchup.

I kind of agree. I mean we didn't even fill up McDonough earlier in the season for a home game...
Things could be pretty sparse tonight. let's hope it's not, but the evidence is rough.

I know this is totally not happening, but should the attendence be really, really sparse...compact the crowd around the court. Get everyone to come down to the sections closer to the action. Argue, bribe, fight your way to the front...if MCI wants any more money this season, they should concede.
Of course it's not happening, those brutes are the most bullheaded, stubborn asses I've ever encountered.

we got a shout out on Hot 99.5. they mentioned the possibility of gtown and maryland meeting in the NIT and noted we had a game tonite. People might have even been listening since they had Joe Gibbs on shortly thereafter. (and Hot 99.5 is far from sports radio)

How bout we send free tickets to the entire Washington Redskins squad and tell everyone in the city that they will be there...have a little meet and greet event with the skins. Maybe a two-on-two game with Ramell and DJ vs two skins players.
We could sell the place out.
I should be in charge of SID.
