In the next couple of days are big for GTown Basketball. We a waiting on the pending commitments from possible recruits. There is a high probability GTown may not receive the answers the programs wants. Many of the poster and fans are going to go fanatic about JTIII can't recruit or talk about the erosion of Gtown basketball. I hope that many of the fans remember the integrity that is required to run a program. I was reading about Baylor and the sanction that they may be facing because of recruiting violation and UConn recruiting issues that they have seen, Allows me to put everything in perspective come Wedn. Gtown has been free from sanction while provide and entertaining and competitive product on the hardwood. Landing some of these top recruits may come a a price. I appreciate that the staff has decided to put Gtown in front of wins in trying to maintain that integrity and keeping this program violation free for the most part (Moses was a violations).
So if everything don't go our way this week, let not tear down the staff or insult the decision of the recruit and their families. Let look and the look and the unexpected success provided by last year recruiting class and believe in those recruits who have committed to the GTown experience.

I judge this based on the kids we get and how they do on and off the court once they arrive. Whether we recruited someone who doesn't come here is irrelevant. How they were ranked before they come here is irrelevant. The staff needs to determine who is good and will do well here. That can only be known after they come and are here.

I dispute the notion that "Moses was a violation". That implies that GU had some part in the violation. GU did not.
The facts of that situation are that Moses accepted an airline ticket to emigrate from Africa to America long before GU ever heard of him. Once he was here, the NCAA got wind and informed schools such as GU who were recruiting him that Moses had a previous issue with a plane ticket that still needed to be resolved. They did not, however, state exactly what the penalty would be.
After GU won the recruitment battle and Moses arrived on campus, the NCAA made their long-awaited determined and issued their ruling that Moses would need to sit for the first 9 games of his freshman year. While Moses did receive a penalty as a student at GU, the "violation" occurred before GU's involvement and the Hoyas had no part in it whatsoever.

Many of the poster and fans are going to go fanatic about JTIII can't recruit or talk about the erosion of Gtown basketball. Not saying there won't be even the slightest hint of a meltdown Wednesday between 7:30-10:00 p.m., but if Noel picks Kentucky, no one in their right mind will criticize JTIII. He had the wrong assistant on the case early but has done a fantastic job even keeping Georgetown in the race up to this point. All in all, cooler heads will prevail ... I think.

I can't imagine how not beating out the ATM at Kentucky for a recruit is going to cause a meltdown. It's freaking Kentucky. They beat out a lot of teams for recruits. The discussion will probably be more "What is our plan at center without Nerlens?" THAT is a legitimate recruiting/planning question. EDIT: And by the way, we're getting Nerlens

I take issue with the title of this thread!! I was expecting to open it and find some downloadable agreement I could sign in my own blood to make sure that Noel will choose Georgetown. Pfft!

It ain't over 'til it's over! Meltdown? Only the unreasonable will participate in that. The disappointed will pick themselves up and go on - BECAUSE there are still people out there going somewhere and it depends on who commits ahead of them

If we don't land any more of the 2012 high profile recruits, nobody should be bashed. But nobody should get any credit just for being on a "final list" either- that's like finishing second in a political election. I think the talent level on the squad is very good with the exception of missing another high level scorer ... unless DSR can do that as a frosh.

ok michael agree with most of you said sir saxa absoulutely right about moses. AND i think the guy who bought the tix may have been his LEAGAL guardian. but NO CREAM CHEESE WITH bagels THATS a meal but not just the bagel. And if mr. noel decides to come i respect him ALOT and think hes a good kid. It seems hes even thinking about us because of the ACADEMICS.. i think he and his family said something like " like the academics .. even those that leave early come back alot AND go on to get their degrees ie jeff green and greg coming back" yup if he comes its for a GOOD reason. go hoyas it is what it is VERY -PROUD OF OUR PROGRAM and the kids very NICE kids it brings in. go hoyas heck its almost kenner and then almost nov and then ALMOST FEB AGAIN yes ps i think hoyas arent taught to SELL SOULS but to try to HELP SOULS ie men and women for others. go hoyas

Maybe JTIII has hired a couple of other assistants named Willie Brown and Robert Johnson?
