insider.espn.go.com/blog/dave-telep/post/_/id/3580/notebook-francis-wiggins-and-more• Junior center Khadeem Lattin (Houston/Redemption Christian Homeschool Academy) feels like Louisville, Georgetown and USC are working him hard. Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas also garnered a mention. “Tell me the truth,” Lattin said when asked what a college coach should do to land him. “I know I have growing to do and I’m not there, and I know I’ll work to get there.” There was much focus this week on the genetics of Andrew Wiggins, whose father played in the NBA and whose mother was an Olympic runner. Well, Lattin’s mom is Monica Lamb, formerly of the WNBA’s Houston Comets.

Like this kid as a four to Robinson's five.

www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/blog/eye-on-college-basketball/22490140/time-overseas-helped-fourstar-khadeem-lattin-on-and-off-the-courtAfter spending his junior year back in Texas, Lattin is focused on getting his game where it needs to be before college. At No. 58 in the 247 Sports Composite ranking for the class of 2014, Lattin wants to regain a spot back among the best at his position. “Before I left to leave the country, my ranking shouldn't have dropped,” he said. “I really am still top tier in my class.” USC, Louisville, Georgetown, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, Baylor, SMU, Marquette and Villanova are all in the mix for Lattin's commitment, with USC, Georgetown, Louisville and Oklahoma making the biggest pushes. While he wants to take an official visit to Oklahoma, Lattin has already tripped unofficially to Georgetown and Louisville. “They're both really good at developing bigs,” he said. “They're great coaches above all other things. I love the family environment, and they're basketball powerhouses.” As for the allure of going abroad again? Lattin will be home schooled for his senior season. “I'll be here until I graduate college,” he said.

Maybe his home school teacher should make him do a research report on the development of Louisville bigs....

or he could call Samardo. Samardo is willing to discuss the development of Louisville bigs as soon as he's done changing the oil in my car.

Saw Houston Hoops play on ESPNU last week; he didn't make a noticeable impact the game. Haven't heard much of anything about his recruitment recently - does anyone know whether Hoyas are still involved/interested?

Given the rumors that this will be Josh's last season, I think the staff should keep all big man options open..

future150.com/hs/basketball-news/khadeem-lattin-is-taking-his-time-3351One would think schools such as Louisville, Georgetown, Baylor, and Tulsa would all be in good shape given their track record with big men. Louisville has consistently had their forwards go to the NBA in the past decade. Georgetown is and always has been a big man school. Baylor has recently gotten a lot of highly touted bigs to come to campus and could provide top talent in practice, while Tulsa has Danny Manning as their head coach. Manning has been responsible for helping to develop a string of star big men while at Kansas as an assistant. Lattin said that he will definitely take official visits to Georgetown, USC, and Oklahoma. It will be interesting to see who gets the other two. Location will not be a factor for him, as he spent his sophomore season playing at Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain. Does anyone know if the staff is still in contact with Lattin? He continues to mention G'town for a visit..

I would think that until one of their target bigs pops for GU, we'd still be in contact with all of our big prospects. I dont think we can afford to ever. We'll never be ACC to the media......my bad i strayed off topic somewhat. Anyway, didn't answer your question. To me Lattin is a 5 in a 4 man's body due to his lack of an offensive skillset and slim frame. His face up game is improving but he has to get bigger. All that said, he's a great shot blocker, can hit a 12-footer, is a very good athlete and is smart.

insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncbrecruiting/on-the-trail/post?id=5800Rebound, run and rim Who does it best: Khadeem Lattin (Houston, Texas/Redemption Christian) Khadeem Lattin Center 2014 Uncommitted: List Pos Rk 7 Stars Grade 84 Hometown Houston, TX Why it’s important: To excel in the middle without being a dominant shot-blocker or scoring big man one must be able to rebound, run the floor and finish at the rim. To be a committed rebounder you must have the desire and willingness to go find an get the ball or block out your man and untimely do both. By running the floor, especially in multiple trips, it allows the center to be a factor for a transition bucket or get back in the play on defense. The ability to catch and finish at the rim makes a center valuable. Like most big men, his defensive tools and instincts are ahead of his offensive game. When you analyze his game it’s a combination of many moving parts. A big part of it is running the floor to score or screen on offense or to protect the painted area and grab the board on defense. On the offensive glass he will go outside of his space to rebound. On his teammates' dribble penetration, he quickly gets the ball to the rim for a score. He is also good at catching lobs. He needs to develop a simple offensive package, but you can count on Lattin to effective in these areas.
