I am shocked nobody has commented that Asheville is leading Syracuse by 1...An Asheville win would be a nice appetizer for tomorrow's main event.

Would be priceless if Cuse was the first 1 seed to lose to a 16.

Is anybody else watching these dog performances by other 13 & 14 seeds and feeling even angrier about the Hoyas getting paired with Belmont, who is clearly better than all of them by a mile?

Would be priceless if Cuse was the first 1 seed to lose to a 16. It would be the gift that kept giving. I've experienced that schadenfreude firsthand when South Carolina was the 2nd #2 to lose to a #15 (Coppin State.) When they lost to Richmond later it was even better. One thing I just noticed verifying the details above - it appears Cuse was the first #2 to lose to a #15.

I think this is the first time I'm going to have a heart attack watching a non-Hoya related basketball game.
Go UNC-Asheville

It is incredible that Boeheim is characterizing his team as some sort of underdog. Finally he gets called out today by none other than the Sec. of Education Arne Duncan. There could not be a program with more negative karma than sleazy SU. Go UNC Asheville!!!

How do you know that?
I think it's exactly the point. Those teams looked bad because Lville, Marq and Wisconsin played very well.

You were the one that said it has to do with the games today. I see nothing in the games today that proves that Belmont is a much better team than BYU, Montana and Davidson. What I saw was a very good performance by Marq, Lville and Wisconsin.

What I saw was a very good performance by Marq, Lville and Wisconsin. It has nothing to do with the games today. These are inferior teams--go look it up. The performance today is just another reminder of what all of us knew on Sunday--we got shafted on the first game draw. That was my point.

The point is that Belmont is better than Montana, BYU, Davidson, ER al by a mile. We're playing a Sweet Sixteen caliber opponent in Round 1. It doesn't matter. It's the seed we got and we need to deal with it. Also, even if we played BYU or Davidson, people here would have been complaining and worrying about the matchup. Belmont is not a "Sweet Sixteen caliber opponent." Sure, they might be underseeded, but they would not have been a 4+ seed under any circumstance. Fans on this board are hyping Belmont so much that you would think we are a college team playing the Miami Heat. We are a better team and we need to play like we are a better team and get it down tomorrow with a solid victory.

You can both be right. Belmont very likely IS a better tea than the other 14 seeds. But that is not because of how bad the other 14 seeds played today.
