None of this will matter. But really I was surprised at how much I thought at the end of that game "Who cares? Let them rest up for the real thing."
Maybe it's the realization that the BET as we know it is going away or maybe it's the fact that the run to the BET Finals a few years ago is less vivid than us getting trounced by the likes of Ohio and VCU. Whatever it is, I care about next week so much more than this week.
This team has a bad, bad mismatch against teams built around thick, physical post players but we have a pretty good chance of not having one in our first week draw. So let's string together a few ugly Butler-inspired wins in the tourney. This team can definitely do that.

The title of this thread recalls Bob Dylan:
"Someday things are gonna be different, When I paint my masterpiece"

I felt that way to a certain degree as well, except that:
(i) I really wanted us to have another shot at Syracuse, as I think we can beat them; and
(ii) The way we blew the game in regulation left a terrible taste in my mouth. It was our Groundhog Day experience.

You mean when we beat #1 Kentucky then #2 Duke. We aren't getting a 3 seed. Don't have enough top 100 wins and our rpi dropped to 17.
But the bright side is we get rest and none of our guys are hurt except for Whitt's tweaked up ankle.

What scares me is that whoever we play will be a lower seed and has to figure they have noting to lose and, having seen tapes of the Marquette and Cincy games, will press us and foul us and generally play fast and furious.

Things broke our way with the exception of Michigan coming back on Minnesota. Still think we will fall just short of a 3 seed. Doesn't really matter, at this point its all about matchups and location.
