If I was able to interpret the above correctly, it was not actually losing to Cincy that cost us, but WHO we lost to (Cuse, WVU, and SHU) that killed us in the end. no it was the cincy loss. We beat them we win the mini conference

after looking at the rules, I think what happens after USF gets kicked out by the loss to ND, it just reverts to head to head. So, it really was the loss to Cinci that was the most important thing.

Really, it was all of the losses equally. One more win and there isn't a tiebreaker. Not sure why we're hung up which loss cost us the double bye - they all count the same.

How did we go from a two bye to a one? I thought the announcers said that we were going to be a 4 seed at worst if we lost yesterday.

Tie-breakers. They were wrong.

At least we weren't in the UConn/West Virginia bracket. ExCuse has a tough road.

4. Tell Starks-if you don't improve--we'll find someone who can do what you aren't. Simple. Worked for Charles Smith--and he responded. Turnovers will happen but the type he gets are out of pure terror. Be aggressive and assertive with the ball. Just so timid/weak. Is DSR not a point guard at the college level?

He's played the 2G spot at Oak Hill all year too-so while going there helped him get used to playing in college atmosphere--with better teammates, it hurt his PG development because he was with Tyler Lewis who played point. DSR is a good passer--but he's not a great ball handler and his weaknesses are what the team currently struggles with--handling pressure. One thing he automatically will improve--FT Shooting. Best looking stroke from FT line I've seen from any Hoya/Hoya recruit. Guy will be a high 80's/90% FT shooter in college.

But Markel is basically a Steve Kerr/Jon Wallace 3pt specialist Combo Guard and not a true point too so I could see DSR and Trawick taking over the PG duties if Markel regresses. I'm not sure Markel will ever be able to dribble penetrate and finish or kick it out consistently because he doesn't have the athelticism, explosiveness and handles that Trawick and DSR probably have.

The revenge tour idea aside, I'd love to get Pitt so that we can be the team to escort them out of the Big East with a nice kick in the butt and a don't-come-back-now-ya-hear?

Anybody else feel like with Pitt sucking and WVU down and with USF and Cincy looking a lot better and ND and Marquette perennial league contenders, this is looking like an awfully fun and good league without the three defectors?

Jabril has minimal handle dude which team do you watch? Markel has better handle than DSR as well and its not as if hes non-athletic. I understand he hasnt been good, but his physical abilities havent changed.

I actually like the way this sets up. Some of our best Big East runs have occurred when the team has played with a chip on its shoulder. I believe the team is going to be fired up to avenge a few of our losses, and will be out to validate the surprisingly good regular season. Looking forward to it!

Well, at least we know for sure that Jabril and Otto are ready to get back to work. Jabril tweeted the following earlier:
"Had a great workout with @o_porter22 we're determined to be the best we can be!!"
It feels great as a fan to know that these two guys are right back in the gym the day after a tough loss, working their asses off to get better. That's the attitude that makes this team special, and makes me believe that they can make a serious run. This freshman class has been a real blessing.
