You almost have to laugh about how bad our fortune was. Instead of 2nd place with the double bye, we could have been the 4 seed with the double bye, we could have been the 6 seed on the line of SJU/NOVA/ND, 3 teams we absolutely own, or......we could be the 5 seed on the line of Rutgers, who we beat by 1 at home, Pitt and Cinci. Two teams that we are like 1-7 against in 4 years. Oh, well, like I said in the other thread....Redemption Run begins..

Not sure it's most likely rut/Pitt if rut beats shut at home, it's sju/pitt

Bring on Pitt. I really think it would get our guys fired up for a shot at revenge. Fired up and angry is exactly how i want to start the tournament. We can beat any team in the conference. Period.

Not sure if the Rutgers-SJU result tonight would affect seeding so I went with 12/13.

Is there any way it's not pitt in that game Absolutely? You really dont think 5-13 Pitt could lose to SJU or Rutgers in NYC? Pitt pretty much stinks....except when they play us, of course. I mean the 12/13

Ah. Sorry. No. Pitt is locked at 12/13.
In a 3 way tie, I am pretty sure Nova is 14 because Pitt and Rutgers got some top of the table wins this year.

Big picture. We were picked to finish tenth. We finished fifth. Now let's continue to prove some people wrong.

We are a young team, an extra game won't hurt and the momentum might even help. Another day to get used to the bright lights of the BET.

Why do people think it's bad? You want to do something--prove it. What better way to prove it then to have opportunity to beat teams who EVERYONE on planet thinks you can't beat (Pitt, Cincy, Cuse...). If you want to win anything of importance-you have to beat tough/good teams. I think Pitt is awful. There is no reason to lose to them again. That would be humiliating and real knock against III if he can't beat them. Cincy is tough--but Hoyas can play with them and win that game. Cuse has never won the BET as a 1 seed--why not let history repeat itself and take them out? Get through that--and you will win the BET. Simple as that. You win those games--you'll win BET against whomever comes out of other side.
Tired of the scared attitude and it starts at top--you have to start attacking/delivering blows and quit waiting to "counter". III is the friggin "John Ruiz" of coaching against pressure and that's got to end.
Between tonight/Wednesday--this team has to:
1. Address dumb turnovers (Trawick's walking the baseline after Marquette turnover is inexcusable....the stupid passes against press)
2. Nate Lubick's FT stroke-tear that thing down and make him shoot FT' differently. What he's doing now isn't working, will never work and shouldn't work. The guy's stroke makes Vernon Macklin look like Calvin Murphy. (lil Hoyas--look up Calvin's FT percentage)
3. If one guy stands straight up on defense (Starks is worst offender but Henry did it time/time again in post against ground ridden Gardner) hit them in stomach with a ball. Get down in a STANCE and defend someone. Hoyas are a good-not great defensive team because great defense travels with you on road--this team has gotten shredded on defense in 3 of past 4 road losses.
4. Tell Starks-if you don't improve--we'll find someone who can do what you aren't. Simple. Worked for Charles Smith--and he responded. Turnovers will happen but the type he gets are out of pure terror. Be aggressive and assertive with the ball. Just so timid/weak.
5. Scrap the Pee Wee League press offense and come up with something that actually has a chance of advancing/moving forward and more importantly--getting numbers/transition points off the attack. If you never look to attack--nobody will take their press off.
