Good article, although the line about playing an easier OOC schedule to get a few extra wins makes me ill. That doesn't work anymore. Plus, it's not like our OOC schedule this year was Temple-like. It was better, bust still needs work. I think the head of the Selection Committee made it very clear how OOC schedule matters when talking about ND missing out.

I think Coach has the right attitude. Gotta look at this like a gift, postseason experience for next year.

Wasn't it just a few years ago the Post was bad-mouthing the OOC schedule? - that was probably the random editors who do the online chats, not the professional beat writers (Ken Denlinger for several years, Camille Powell for the last two) - it was better this year than in previous years ... and hopefully will be better next year, and the year after, etc.

***Student seating will be on both ends of the court for this game. We reserve sections 117, 116, 105 and 106 for students. Very interesting. Here's a link to a map of the seating layout for MCI Center. It's from the old site, because for some reason I can still access it and the new site facility page for MCI Center isn't working for me. I hope this works: www.guhoyas.com/extras/local/hoopsclubticketsmap.htmlAnyway, Sections 117, 116, 105, and 106 are the two sections immediately behind each basket. Section 106 is where the press usually is, so looks like they're being moved elsewhere. Section 116 is where the band usually is, so they're probably going to be somewhere else, I'm not sure where. This must be some sort of experiment generated by the countless threads about moving the student section on the board. Overall, I'm very happy and excited about this, because it gets 3 times as many students much closer to the floor and the action. However, these four sections may not be enough to hold the entire student section. I'm wondering where the overflow crowd may go. Interested to see how this will all play out on Wednesday. It's only one game, and this is new, but we gotta get some good call and response cheers going, i.e. one side yell, "Hoya!" and the other "Saxa!" as well as "We are!" and "Georgetown!" I have a feeling this might take some work coordinating all this, like which side says what.

Anyone have any idea if the BU band and/or cheerleaders will be traveling for the game? Since the game is in MCI the band will be there, confirmed this morning by Athletics. I am assuming the cheerleaders will be there too. I doubt the band has been moved. Even though the band always sits there it's still considered part of the student section because we still have to show student section tickets to sit there.
