I don't think these brackets match those on the NIT website, as the NIT site has us playing the winner in a play-in pod of 4 teams, whereas CBS has us playing a winner of another first round game. When I went there an hour or so ago it was blank. I just went back and it looks like are starting to fill it in and have it wrong.

First time since 1992 we've hosted an NIT game. This is huge- not to mention it could launch us with good vibes into next year!
Let's rock the Terriers at MCI!

I never thought I could be this excited about an NIT home game! ;D I'm excited b/c we can definately use the experience. Hopefully in a Minnesota in 1995 kind of way (they won the NIT, setting up their run to the Final Four the next year--though we won't get the help from Gangelhoff that they did)

I'm just psyched we're not playing Thursday or Friday. I love my Hoyas, but I don't know that I'd miss watching the NCAA tourney to go see them play BU.

i'm sure this belongs on the soon to be created "predictions" thread, but thought I would share a little information after a quick glance at the BU website. Here are a few results of interest: Loss to Holy Cross 48-58 Loss at Boston College 74-80 Win at Michigan 63-52 Loss at Vermont 58-69 Win vs Vermont 61-55 other losses - at UMass, vs Northeastern (twice), at Binghamton, and vs maine

Credit where credit is due:
Perhaps Coach Esherick's refusal to travel when the team likely deserved a home game actually made a point to the NIT organizers?
To answer my own question: Probably not; seems like the absence of hockey as a real scheduling conflict made this possible for this year and this year only. Or perhaps the deal was that we got the home game but not the TV coverage.
Thoughts?

This team isa team with about 4 guys at the height of 6'8 and one 6'9 guy, this is the game roy and jeff should come through for us. Also, just saying, if we win, and we match up with asu, I think it will be a great matchup- diogu vs. green.

Though looking at the scores that millerj9 posted makes me think that they tend to play the half court game (or just aren't very good at running).

Sagarin calls it an almost even matchup, but we'll have the home court advantage.
Then again, it has to be pretty hard for computer systems to get a handle on a team that player very few major conference teams. They did better against BC than we did, though.

I'd just like to win, no matter where I sit.
I like us with the home court, because I believe we're better than that 5 game losing streak that sank our Dancing hopes.

interesting stat....with all of their size, BU only posted a +0.6 rebounding margin over their opponents (vs. GU's -0.7).
BU avgs 5 blocks per game (vs. GU's 4.6), 12 turnovers per game (vs. GU's 13.9), and 4.6 three pointers per game (vs. GU's 7.5).
