1. Despite the "conventional wisdom" that there is too much parity in CBB for the top teams to dominate in the tourney, I predict that the power conferences and power teams will dominate. There will be no Cinderella story this year. Can Murray State or Creighton win a game or two? Maybe. The bright lights and lack of tourney experience may be too much to overcome. People looking for upsets will be upset this year.
2. Despite the opinion that the Big East is having a down year, the Big East will perform well in this year's tourney. If the 5th best team in the conference is perceived as a top-ten team in most national polls, I think that conference is pretty good. There will be a good percentage of Big East teams playing on the second weekend of the tournament. Alas, only one will make it to the Final Four.
3. Based on the Hoyas performance in conference, we have shown that we can win 2-3 tough games in a row. But that's it. I still think we make it past the first weekend. Let's just get that monkey off our backs.
4. Likely Final Four teams: Kansas, Michigan State, UNC or Kentucky, Syracuse or Marquette. These choices are based on who I think are the best teams in their respective conferences. The Big 10, Big 12, and Big East are without a doubt the best conferences this year. Pretty sure that KU and MSU are the best teams in their conferences. Kentucky may get it done because of their defense. UNC has a chance because of their experience.
5. Tourney match-ups I would like to see: Duke vs. Vanderbilt, Indiana vs. Notre Dame, Florida vs. Missouri.
