A lot of cred for a late run. Too bad we couldn't do something similar

Yeah, all we did was finish ahaead of them in the Big East, and beat them head to head, but we obviously don't deserve a bid over teams like N. Iowa and N.C. State. or Iowa, who couldn't even have a winning record in the horrific Big Ten. We would have gone 11-5 in the Big Ten. F'n ESPN always talks up teams that end up getting in.

We didn't deserve to get in given our late season swoon. I have to be honest there.

We didn't deserve to get in given our late season swoon. I have to be honest there. Neither did Iowa, though, regardless of their late season run b/c of their conference record. The Big Ten is in a down year, and it gets a 7-9 team in? Their nonconference record was pretty nice, but in order to go 7-9 in the Big Ten this year, you had to blow some very very winnable games. I mean, even Minnesota managed to go 10-6.

Cant' be surprised by Iowa or Nothern Iowa when the Committee Chairman is AD at Iowa and graduated from Northern Iowa. An absolute TRAGEDY to CBB today that 5 teams from that piece of GARBAGE league the Big 10 got invited to NCAA's. They deserved 2 teams with Wisconsin being acceptable as the 3rd, but not very good either.
All you need to know about Minnesota is that they avoided playing anyone in non conference and lost to Florida State at home. In conference they played Purdue, Northwestern, and Penn State twice while avoiding return games with Wisconsin and Illinois.
Iowa getting in is pathetic--7-9 in the frigging GOD AWFUL Big 10 and while they played a good non conference, those wins came with their best player Pierre Pierce on the team. He's now facing up to 30+ years in PRISON and Iowa's "hot" end to season included wins over the likes of:
Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue, and Penn State.
They also lost SPLIT with Purdue and Northwestern and that alone should be banishment from CBB--let alone the NCAA's. Disgusting display of homerism by Bowlsby and committee today. Northern Iowa sucks--they absolutely suck. Period end of story.
And while I'm on a roll, throw in a raised eyebrow at Stanford, Mississippi State--the most overrated team yearly, and UAB who played in a marginal CUSA this year. Cincy was down, Louisville's okay, and Charlotte's decent-not as good in past years. Louisville's record was helped by facing CUSA teams and facts are facts, they have no right to whine about 4 seed because that's kind to allow that.

Iowa is definitely the team to pick if you're arguing someone else should have gotten in. Though I'm still not sure any other bubble team made a strong argument to get in instead of them.
As for Iowa getting in over Indiana. So why did Iowa get in over Indiana? Simply put: conference record isn't the only thing that matters. Sure, it's important, but it's only one factor, and this proves that there is no hard rule about this. There's a reason teams play non-conference games, and Indiana couldn't beat anybody out of conference.

Also consider that Iowa came up with 3 solid performances in the conference tournament, as opposed to Indiana's 0.
