Norm Wood: nwood@dailypress.com
I just emailed him to ask him to justify the #21 ranking. Please feel free to do the same.

Does this do the job?
Norm,
I am quite appalled by your NCAA Men's Basketball rankings and am wondering if you could please explain some of your rationalizations for me. A few of the eye-catching ones are:
- Indiana (19-6) at #11 (lost 5 of their last 9 games) - Gonzaga (20-4) at #16 ahead of St. Mary's (23-3) at #23 (they split their head-to-head games; St. Mary's has a win against then #7 Baylor; their game this week was Gonzaga's first against a ranked team) - Georgetown (19-5) at #21(4-2 against ranked teams, with one of those wins being against Louisville, which you have ranked at #12 despite their 1-3 record against ranked teams)
As a matter of disclosure, I am a Georgetown alum/fan. I'm not asking that you put Georgetown in the Top 10 necessarily (I acknowledge that we are 6-4 in our last 10), but please either explain to me how #21 is an appropriate ranking for them or try to vote objectively from here on out.
Thank you,

People are better off emailing Gary Parrish and asking how Gtown can be below teams like Louisville on his ballot. Parrish publishes his Poll Attacks every week and I imagine public humiliation is more effective than snarky emails he's going to ignore.

It's always nice moving up and especially being in the top 10... But it's still odd to think UNC is an Austin Rivers miss from still being in the top 5. I appreciate gtown moving up despite the loss and am not sure how much more we could have moved even with the win considering michigan state knocked off Ohio at Ohio and is just ahead of us. Still a lot of basketball left and a 2 seed is not impossible...

Norm Wood: nwood@dailypress.com I just emailed him to ask him to justify the #21 ranking. Please feel free to do the same. Norm Wood is not from rural VA. He is from the Southside of Hampton Roads. I'm not defending his ranking of our Hoyas but he is not some country hick that doesn't know any better. He is just a beat reporter that looks and sees that we beat Rutgers 52-50 at home(for example) and isn't impressed. But if UVA beat Tech or Wake in the same manner he would understand..............

Not to Syracuse, there isn't. Not ever.
I don't care if we moved up to #3....and ahead of them.
Revenge in NY would be ridiculously sweet.

Isn't that Bubbachuck country? Why the hate? Yeah man. But even more than Bubbachuck country it's ACC country. The majority of the reporters around here hated Chuck and completely turned on him after the bowling alley incident. I've always said that being AI got him arrested and being AI got him off............. For the old school Hoya fans.... Was AI interested in GTown before the arrest. I have always assumed that he woould have been at UNC, UK, or UCLA if he hadn't gotten in trouble. I have no knowledge of his recruitment. Just a gut feeling from the few times I've been around him............

ditto on the SUck loss. I would take ranking of 25 and beating SUck, then a top ten ranking and a loss to SUck. -M
