Who here has been in it and how does one get into the library outside of a special event?
In my four years at Georgetown, I not only did not get to see Riggs, I don't think I even knew where it was.

I snuck in my senior year precisely because I had never gotten in. I had to go up to the bowels of Maguire and saw it was open so I went on in.

They open it during exams usually now for people to study and they have senior events there so I think most students these days have been in it at least once. I've been in dozens of times.
There are tons of events held there you can just sign up for.

I've been in at least once - there are often speakers and lectures there. I wish it were more accessible, because it really is a beautiful spot, but it's not like there are no opportunities to go there.

used to go there during finals because it would be open for students to study.
also had my rehearsal dinner there - which was spectacular.

yeah finals, events (thanksgiving prayer service, senior events), and just walking up the southern stairway of Healy to the 3rd floor and seeing if the doors are open, which they are more often than you'd think, are some ways to see it.

I had no problem getting there. Especially, because it was the main library on campus in my days.

I went to a couple of events there. Rumor has it that most of the books on the shelves nowadays are outdated encyclopedias - just there to make the shelves look full in the background of pictures.

I went to the "open for study" period during my senior spring (I think that's when it was). I know they now have some kind of semi-formal dance there for seniors--I actually got an email from my sister today with pictures from the event.
EDIT: I actually went and looked at the pictures. A lot of the books in the background appear to be West's Federal Reporter, which is pretty much shelf-filler.

While I was on campus (1999-2003), Riggs Library was rarely open for events, though they began to open it up a little bit more when I was a senior, and I went to at least one special event there that was arranged through the President's office. It is definitely one of the nicer spaces on campus.

Should have gone a lot more than I did instead of the Tombs. I might have gotten into medical school instead of law school and made some real money...
