Time to stop basking in the happy joy of last night. One game at a time. Let's start the Bulls running back to the middle of the herd where they belong. Defense. Defense. DEFENSE!

We also need a HUGE performance from the students with this crazy 11 a.m. tip-off. Either stay in Friday night, or stay up all night and go straight to the Booth.

USF is 6-3 in the Big East, but a lot of that is scheduling, I think. They only have two road wins this year (@nova & @depaul) and all 6 Big East wins have come against teams who are under .500 in the Big East. KenPom has them ranked 95th. This is a game we should win

USF has been mediocre on both sides of the ball. They don't force turnovers on D; they cough up a bit too many on offense. They don't shoot the three too well. They're a better offensive rebounding team than defensive, but they aren't a dominant or a poor rebounding team either way.
They do have a bunch of 6'6" - 6'8" guys like us. Some of them are pretty good offensively. Gilchrist has struggled on offense this year.
I haven't seen much of them.

SF got it right for the most part. The only difference is Anthony Collins their PG. He is one of those "game managers" that people clamor for. He isnt a big scorer, but he really keeps them in games by reading situations well. He is very impressive in the 5-6 times I've seen them with him at the helm. When Blake Nash has been the PG they have struggled because he cant finish in traffic well. Collins will be a headache for the next 3 years. Hopefully he plays terrible tomorrow. The other guys to look out for that weren't mentioned is Juwanza Poland who is an athletic freak at 6-5 who can jump over anyone and Toralyn Fitzpatrick who hasn't done crap in his career really but this year seems to be in love with shooting 3's and is doing a reasonable job at it.

Federal Rule 277364589.09 Subsection 32 requires 24 hours of alcohol abstinence before the Super Bowl. Common knowledge.

TV. There's always an 11am game on ESPNU on Saturdays. Guess we drew the short straw.

You know, if ever there were a time for ESPN's love of on-campus gameday atmospheres to be justly rewarded, it would be 11am on a Saturday. Suburban fans should also be aware that two stretches of the Red Line will be single-tracked this weekend. Allow sufficient extra travel time to reach the Phone Booth.

USF does not have any quality wins and a conference record that is clearly a product of scheduling magic. However, I am still concerned the Hoyas are going to play a confident team looking to get a signature road win. USF will likely be motivated and come out with more energy and purpose than the Hoyas.
Hopefully the Hoyas can somehow get excited at the prospect of playing USF at 11am but I have my doubts. The one consistent criticism of JT3 I have always agreed with is the inability to get his guys "up" for every game. Being at home may help, but my expectations are low for a quick start.
We need to build on the Uconn game. If we bring the same willingness by H&H to make plays, we should be fine. Defense can win this game with a sprinkle of timely shooting.

Also, DC Auto Show is this weekend, so parking may be a little tighter than usual.

Rosslyn closed. Red line single tracked. DC auto show. Maybe Obama or Biden shoul show up with their security just to ensure everyone attending must leave their homes at 7:00am to get to their seats before tipoff.

I hear what you are saying, but wins are wins in the BE. We have some good wins, but 4 of ours are against DePaul, Providence, Rutgers and St Johns. I expect this to be a tougher game than UConn, that's for sure. Like you said, USF is playing for a lot. There arent so bad RPI-wise.

USF is a solid defensive team and they slow the pace down. Expect another low scoring affair. We're 1 and 2 in points allowed in big east play. Difference is they're dead last in scoring and we're only middle of the pack. Game we need to win at home. But will most likely be an ugly game with two defensive minded teams and an early start time.
