www.sportsline.com/collegebasketball/story/8283251Cheaters and good ol' boys. After ESPN tried to get them in at a home game over Louisville(they lost), CBS' Greg Doyel champions the 19-15 Memphis Tigers to go to the tournament. They've apparently "reinviented themselves" with Sean Banks gone (they didn't "keep him qualified" to try to win ballgames...shhhhhhhhhh). Ah you have to love the media. Shame on you when you get caught but if you have a new job and don't, we love you because you're a good interview. Replace the story with JTIII and a 17-12 team that beat Villanova (#16 RPI), Pittsburgh(#36), and WVU(#28) instead of Louisville(#15) and Charlotte(#30) and see how it reads. Oh, wait it's probably a more compelling argument. But Calipari wears pretty, pretty shiny suits. Media like shiny suit, yay!

Yeah, I agree. Nobody wants to talk about the Conference USA tourney being on Memphis' home floor. Ya think that had something to do with their deep run? Move the BET to MCI and I bet the Hoyas make a deeper run.

There's no question that the location of the tournament worked in Memphis's favor. And I would say there is no chance they get in.
I must add, however, that I was pulling for that kid to make the third free throw. He played a fantastic second half, but will probably still forever feel that he cost his team the game. I really wanted Louisville to win, but I was more than willing to let it be decided in overtime.

I don't think I'd say the Media likes Memphis. That was the only article I saw suggesting they get in.
