Rewatch the dunk. He clearly held on bc his momentum would have caused him to fall and potentially injured himself. Notice he also looked back to see who was underneath him. This tells me he was worried about coming down. This was not a celebratory slap the glass or pull yourself up on the rim.
I swear nate can do nothing right with some of you klowns. Reading some of the posts here, it is clear that some of you are just not very smart and your critiques defy logic, as pointed out by SF when you look at the numbers, you guys could be critiquing other players because they are actually worse than Nate (the numbers outline this). But heck, who needs stats!

Nate has been on the edge of this technical for a while and that it came in this game is no surprise. The refs were very deliberate about how they called this game... nit-picky for lack of a better word. They gave both teams a delay of game warning coming out of one of the early time outs, were constantly pushing guys to get to line, get the ball ready for the inbounds play, etc, etc. Most of it had to do with timing but it just seemed like they were going by the letter of the law and the letter says Nate's dunk was T-worthy. Other crews might have let it go but not that one.

So . . . the Dunk/Technical Foul was well worth it . . . but it was his only foul!
Because NCAA Technical Fouls count as Personal Fouls, and as I see it in the Box Score he had only one foul, . . . the DUNK was Nate's ONLY FOUL all game??
MIN 2FG 3FG FT REB A PF PTS Lubick 18 2-4 0-0 1-1 4 1 1 5
C'mon Nate! Use 'em or lose em. No easy buckets! Beat Cuse. Literally!

Vs picking up a few cheap fouls early and staying on the bench?

Criticism #74: "Nate doesn't foul enough."
OK, now we're just getting downright silly, people.
For the record, neither Nate nor Private Eugene Morris Jerome were in on that whole Pearl Harbor thing.

Absolutely not giving up on Nate. 3 boards, a bucket and drew a foul in only 7 minutes last night. I realize Syracuse is not a good match-up for his skills, but we need what Nate gives us against a number of teams in the conference. He needs more confidence and quicker footwork on the offensive end, but we know he will keep working hard and will contribute as time goes on.

I agree, I still think he can contribute. I was sort of surprised that he didn't get more play last night when Sims was in foul trouble, but I think that's probably because he has had problems as an offensive force. Of course, we had no way of knowing Sims and Hopkins would go 2-20, but I think Lubick could have potentially contributed. Still, I liked Hopkins getting the minutes. Seeing some of his post moves makes me more confident he can contribute at Center next year, if needed.
I actually think this was a good game for Nate. He had limited time, but he rebounded well and didn't make any mistakes. I think he could see more time against St. John's.
