Will be nice to sit back for a few days and watch the rest of the conference beat up on each other.

I can't wait for Cuse to lose to Cinci tonight. Seems like a good time for Cuse to start a slide with Fab out.

Do I root for Pitt to win or lose on Wednesday? someone help me out here.
1. I think I should root for them to win, because I can't think of a worse idea than poking my finger at a dying panther huddled behind a bush, ready to scratch the eyes out of anyone who dares interrupt its death rattle.
But...
2. I think I should root for them to lose because I can't think of a worse idea than walking anywhere near an almost dying panther that has just gotten its first taste of human flesh in over a year.
Also...go Bearcats.

If he is ruled academically ineligible then there is absolutely nothing they can do about that. But if its for something else then I could see how they might try to find some obscure loop hole to justify letting him play.

You know they are probably letting him re-take the same exams he took last semester. For the 5th time. After he was given the questions in advance.
I joke, but there's a part of me that thinks this could actually happen at Cuse.

Was just discussing this with a guy at work who is New Yorker. My point to him, how can a guy who is ruled academically ineligible at the end of the fall semester become eligible prior to him getting next spring semester's grades? He didnt have an answer but was confident Melo would be back. My thinking is not unless a professor changes a grade. Am I right in that assertion?

Wouldn't it just be the case that he failed or got an incomplete grade at the end of the fall semester? He is now appealing it, or something else is going on. The spring semester just started so he became ineligible at that point until they sort it out. My guess is that there is a 99% chance this will be "sorted out."

But why was he eligible to play from the point where Fall grades were submitted (before Christmas) until this past weekend? I know they're slow up there in Syracuse, but c'mon.

I don't get that either. I'm guessing it has to do with SU is being extra careful this year.

Yeah, they should have taken it upon themselves to hold him out, but my guess is that technically speaking he becomes ineligible at the beginning of the next semester? Who knows?

Various rumors on the Syracuse boards, including one that a prof suspected cheating on a few tests in his final, is making the entire class retake a final before submitting their grades. Also a theory that he got an incomplete, was given a deadline to get it done. A third rumor says it has nothing to do with grades (possibly related to his "probation" after the girlfriend issue last year?). One thing for sure - if Chancellor Judas Kantor is willing to sell the school to the ACC for a few pieces of gold, she will make sure that the highly related bball team keeps its full strength going down the stretch.

On the other hand with the bernie fine situation and a teacher coming out in the aftermath of that stating that basketball and football players have been given a free pass in Syracuse, the school may be forced to take action.

What in the name of all the gods who ever spent a night in heaven makes anyone believe that SUcks would or could ever do the right thing? Melo will be back. The problem will miraculously get fixed by the BET.

You need 36 credit and a 2.0 average at the end of your 3rd semester. So either he fell below the 2.0 average and they're trying to let him retake a class so he gets above the 2.0 average or he didn't take enough credits and he took a make up class either over winter break and they're waiting for those grades to be posted for him to be eligible or something else.

The bigger question is whether or not UConn gets back Boatright. Melo is in house and i'll be surprised if he doesn't get back on the court soon. No information just a cynic. The Boatright incident has the NCAA involved and they certainly aren't friends of Jim Calhoun especially given that UConn pulled a fast one with Drummond.

I missed the first half at work.
What's the current count on Sean McDonough saying something completely doosh-ish?
And, more to my liking, what's the count on Raftery making fun of him and/or getting extra excited about Cincy baskets just to needle his homer PBP partner?
