I'm wearing my 34 vanilla t shirt to PITT. At some time, he will have a good scoring game. Perhaps at PITT.
He did play well today and perhaps this is a sign of things to come. Right gum ba.

Unforunately, I was unable to see the game, but the foul disparity does not seem out of line for Rutgers in BE play. If it was the reverse, would we be going nuts? Sure, but that's what fans do.
Check out the breakdown on fouls called for Rutgers games (Rutgers fouls listed first):
USF 18 vs. 10 (loss) WVU 31 vs. 20 (or 16?) (loss) UCONN 20 vs. 21 (win) Pitt 16 vs. 16 (win) WVU 30 vs. 15 (loss) ND 19 vs. 14 (win) GU 29 vs. 14 (loss)

The Rutger's D reminds me most of Jay Wright and the Vanillanova D, equal parts slappy and sloppy, but the great beauty of it for those teams is that such persistent defensive fouling makes it virtually impossible to call all the offensive fouls. Unfortunately for Rutgers, this strategy only works when you (the fouling team) has a lot of depth to absorb those fouls, AND the opponent lacks depth. Nova's strategy over the past few years was clearly to play overly-aggressive defense early, build up a foul disparity in GU's favor and then ride the refs to balance out the fouls, forcing a matchup of bench players, where they had a huge advantage. It didn't get them many wins over that era, but it made for a lot of close (and long and ugly) games. Now that we can sub in quality players, that strategy is not likely to succeed. But hey, let them try.

Give an assist to the crowd in the final minute. While the crows was as lackluster as the play throughout most of the game, the noise on Rutgers last 3 offensive possessions was impressively deafening.

Right on Sky. My son wears 34 now for CYO. I keep telling him to play like Mike Sweetney. He has no idea who he is. Maybe I will tell him to play like Nate. He definately knows who he is. Good luck at Pitt. BTW - I am sober now...

Lubick wins that game with his D and steal just before the 2 min mark with the outlet to Otto for the score. Play of the game, and maybe defensive play of the year so far. ,
