Posted to ESPN Insider Yesterday, Despite back-to-back Big East losses, Georgetown sits in a good spot at 13-3. That's better than most experts would have predicted for them at this point and a good record to work from as they look to make a nice second half run.
What about the Hoyas' future? There's a good chance that this is Hollis Thompson's final year with the program, so landing another big time recruit for 2012 or even 2013 is a priority. Jerry Meyer of Rivals.com looks at three potential talents that Georgetown is targeting, and notes that they still have work to do if they intend on landing any of them.
Nerlens Noel is a talented big man that they'd love to have. The problem is, he's currently the No. 2 prospect in the 2013 -- everyone would love to have him. Troy Williams is an athletic small forward who knows how to score, but it seems like Kentucky and North Carolina may have inside position in that recruiting race. Meanwhile, Devonta Pollard would be a nice addition for the Hoyas as well. He's already an impressive specimen and his upside is intriguing. He lists Georgetown as a finalist, but Meyer thinks it unlikely that the youngster will leave the south when all is said and done.

Georgetown is, indeed, South of the Mason Dixon line!

This is a very legit question. The hoyas relly need to land another high quality, pro=potential recruit at any posisition. I like the way the team looks not with a lot fo length on the perimeter. I would still like to see an athletic point guard who is on the bigger side.
All that being said I think that the current peices are very good. I believe that Starks will only get better and that he could ultimately be a better player with greater success than CW was for the Hoyas. Also I beleiv that Hollis will not be a first round pick this year and as a result he will come back. He will be a greivas vasquez type of performer for the Hoyas when it is all said and done. A kid who flirted with the NBA evaluations only to wind up staying the full four years.

PR-being a first round guy doesnt mean nearly as much as it used to. There is a trend for a reason. Second round picks are getting signed. In fact, now Id say it is better to be pick 35 than it is to be pick 29. But just look at the past few drafts. Those second round picks are getting signed and getting out of the bad rookie contract a lot faster so they are into their money sooner. Plus, first round guys are only guaranteed two years now, as opposed to the three it used to be. So with that said, I dont think the question is whether or not he first round or not.
I think the insider article is correct. We need to pull in at least one of those three guys and a PG. Have to follow up the success on last year's recruiting class with another solid one.

Exactly, the big boys stack recruiting classes and Hoyas need to do the same. Not necessarily in numbers, but quality.
