Hey - there has to be something for us to do while awaiting the ACC Championship game... How many people think the Hoyas will squeak into the NCAA tournament tomorrow?

I've consulted with my magic 8-ball, and the outlook is not good.

We're going to the NIT. And we're going to beat Maryland in the first round at the MCI Center.

I know that people are celebrating what was a great year for our club, but I cant seem to shake this dissapointment. If you look out how things have worked out its like there is cosmic intervention that stops us these last couple years. Losing the last five games, one to st.johns, one to providence, I mean if we have those two then we are a lock for the tourney, espcecially after a first round win in the big east. Then to top it all off, we have to face damn uconn in the second round. Any other team and I think we pull an upset and maybe become the west virginia of this tourney, but no, we lose a nailbiter, it seems like it happens every year and then we have to sit through the torture of knowing how close we were. Sure, i can suck it up another year and accept the NIT but damn just for once I wanted to be watching a first round game on thursday and penciling us in in my bracket. I would take a 16 seed or the play in game. Anything. This team is a team that has shock potential in the tourney. We are a team that would play an exciting game and we could even make a run like we did 5 years ago. It just sucks to be on the outside looking in. I hate that a great season takes on a bad look with a poor finish. We will have as good a record as some teams that get in and we will be robbed because no one in the media wants to fight for us to be in. I hope jt3 is pulling strings. I would love to see these guys get a 15 seed somewhere and get a chance to show what they are made of. I know that somewhere on that committee there is someone who wants to put us in the mix and they should fight for us. Hell if you take our first week and switch it with our last week in the conference to close up they would be talking about us as a contender. Anyway that is my rant. If we are in the NIT fine, but people shouldnt be resigned to that fate. We have played well enough to get in, our flaws and all and I just hope JT3 is on the phone right now trying to lobby the powers that be to help us pull out a miracle.

I realize this may be of little consequence, but did anyone else take note that Princeton's AD, Gary Walters, is one of the 10 Selection Committee members? Considering JT3 left Princeton on what appeared to be amicable terms, any chance an old "friend" might help out a fellow Princeton alum? The connection potentially may have helped out another Princeton alum at Air Force last year... Gary Walters bio is a little over half-way down the page: www.bracketography.com/committee.htm
