The two point guards (Sessions and Bynum) are ballhogs and just jack shots up disrupting the flow of the offense. Whitman isn't making adjustments to what the Hawks are doing.

Bynum plays like is playing on a 19-63 team and is just trying to get his stats so he can get a nba deal next year. Sessions is slightly better but has zero court vision. Wiz are cooked without Wall. He makes the engine go. Otto had an off night tonight. He will needs to return to form of first 3 games for Washington to even have a shot.

Hard for Porter to get involved when Sessions and Bynum dribble the clock out and dance around with the ball and then jack up a shot in traffic or from outside with a couple seconds left. Otto had only 4 shot attempts and it wasn't because he wasn't looking to score, it was because Sessions/Bynum were freezing everyone out (except Beal) with their ball hogging. Defensively the those two were also getting demolished by Teague and Schroeder.

Sessions is a low-level college player in terms of vision. What a terrible PG.

Last night was Otto's first subpar game in the playoffs. I was at the game, and naturally watched him fairly closely. Don't know if it was because he played his most minutes as a pro on Saturday night..40..but he did not have his usual energy and bounce. He only had 5 rebounds (averaging over 8) , made just the one 3 pointer and had a crucial and careless turnover in the backcourt . Obviously Sessions and Bynum are light years behind Teague and Schroeder...but Otto had still played fabulously with those guys in previous games.
Very much looking forward to a bounce back game for him on Wednesday. Too bad Wall is out..the team would surely have made the conference finals.

Maybe it was different in person, but on TV I think Otto looked fine (energy wise). As was pointed out above, it was largely a function of playing with Sessions and Bynum. Not sure how you can say he played "fabulously" with those two in previous games when Bynum has hardly played at all, and Sessions' minutes have shot up after Wall went down.

I like how they buried the lede about the $30M trust fund. I wish I was so "broke."

Very much looking forward to a bounce back game for him on Wednesday. Too bad Wall is out..the team would surely have made the conference finals. Nothing for him to bounce back from. Game 2 and 3 he had 15 and 12 shot attempts. In this game he only had 4 attempts. And it wasn't because Otto wasn't looking to score. Sessions and Bynum would dribble out the shot clock and then either jack up an outside shot, penetrate to the rim only looking to score or would pass to Beal with a couple seconds left. I saw this trend with Sessions starting in game 2 and felt it was going to eventually hurt us as he can't distribute. In this game Sessions/Bynum combined for 21 shot attempts from the point guard position and dished out only 5 assits (Sessions 5 assists, Bynum 0). Basically Otto was relegated to Otto's corner while those two dribble the clock out. His rebounding and assists numbers are on par with playing 30 mintues compared to 35/40 minutes. This one is on Whitman for allowing Session/Bynum to try to dominate the offensive output.

KC...appreciate you noting the possible difference live v tv viewing. Its obviously pure opinion, but I attended with another Hoya season ticket holder, sat very close to the floor, and we did watch Otto quite closely. He also felt that he just seemed less energized than normal...not cutting quite as much and floating a little bit. Regarding Otto being "fabulous"...he had back to back superb performances with Wall out of the lineup. Now, of course, Sessions and Bynum are basically tiny gunners who pass as a last resort. That makes Otto's two great games even more noteworthy.

So far no Otto in the 2nd half. I imagine a line change is coming in after this time out.

The NBA didn't adopt soccer rules where you only get a few subs and once you're out you're out?

Have to say I am really bummed about Jeff Green's play this year. He was given a real nice opportunity to become a difference-maker to a very good team, and he just doesn't seem to be getting it done. Seems kinda lost out there half the time, is not aggressive, and his 3-point shooting is just awful. Love him - classy guy, great Hoya - but have to admit that he is just not going to live up to his expectations as a pro. The sample is large enough now.
