I can't imagine they do. If it does happen, it's charity because they just simply haven't beaten anyone.

Patriot League 24th best RPI.
Holy Cross
RPI 60 v Top 100: 3-4, both at home versus Bucknell and Northeastern, and away at BU. v Top 50: 0-3 Bad Losses: Princeton (125)
I don't see it. There's nothing impressive about that resume. A couple of wins versus decent mid-major squads.
And the Patriot is a definition of a one-bid conference.

there is no way they get in. so dont worry about them potentially taking a bid from us. ralph willard (their coach) will be Editeded and Dick Vitale will complain that its a sad day in college basketball when you win 25+ games and dont get in the tournament. he's such a nice guy, always looking out for the little guy (note sarcasm)

Holy Cross looked much better under the old new RPI, but have no chance under the new new RPI.

But how do they rank under the old new old RPI? Or is that the old old new RPI? new new old RPI? Someone help me! I've fallen and I can't get up!

NewOldGuy? Isn't he that poster who wrote that Kiki In K-ville saga? He's got a ranking system? Is his better than Sagarin?

It would be a joke to send 2 teams from the Patriot League. Davidson went 16-0 and they at least tried to play some big teams. Holy Cross hasn't played anyone, no brainer.

Yeah, except that HC took league-leading and long undefeated BC into OT at Conte. The Committee could take a long, hard look at that performance; remember some of the "underdog thrills" that HC has provided in past NCAA tournaments (e.g., their near upset of the then #1 seeded Jayhawks back in '02); and then give them an at large out of some sentimentality.
This Sunday is going to be a real test of whether the selectors stick to their guns on their new RPI formulation or listen to the media talking heads who are pleading for Maryland, VaTech (Dickie V. and his "8-8 in the ACC is enough" line of thought) and ND (Digger's "they're my BOYZ").
It'll be interesting to see who walks off with some of the at large bids. Although I agree that the P.L.'s conference-wide RPI makes it the poster boy for a one-bid conference. (Meanwhile, the WCC which rose to 7th ranked conference is sweating it out, hoping that the St. Mary's Gaels manage to get an at-large and allow for two bids.)
