No complaints about his play this year. So thankful for his development. But if Sims is going to carry this team to a good outcome this year, he has got to finish better against better comp or we lose against a lot of the better teams.

Agreed, he has to make those shots. It is great that he gets in position to make those kind of easy shots, but I guess he has to practice finishing. Otto seems like a good finisher, so maybe he can give Henry some tips.

If the shots aren't falling, we can still beat top Big East teams if other guys take on the scoring load. Henry can do so many great things without shooting the ball. We have better shooters and finishers than Henry. Perhaps he needs to let his chances come to him more and not force the issue as much. I love that he demanded the ball and was aggressive in the second half against Providence. It is a delicate balance - we want him engaged, active, and creating on offense. But if he continues to miss, we are passing up opportunities for other guys who can score it better.
Will be very interesting to see how JTIII handles. If he has confidence in Henry, I bet we see a lot of post moves against Marquette. If not, we may see him handling and creating for others at top of key more and waiting for opportunities to emerge rather than creating for himself.

Agree. He's gotta keep looking for his shot. We know he can finish from earlier in the season (his struggles in that aspect have been particularly bad lately). And he's still the primary creator on the team, whether it's getting his own shots, forcing doubles/help, or finding cutters himself. The offense runs most smoothly when we can get the ball to him and he's a triple threat.

has to be more assertive when finishing at the rim. Also, the skip pass is open alot and hoyas aren't takin advantage.

Yehp. Agreed. Gotta keep feeding him for now. But it's about the third game in a row where I've rationalized the misses. It's gotta change against the strong BE comp we are facing this week. Make that running layup every time...Hank!

Ranch, you're optimism has taken an uptick and I have yet to decide if I find that disconcerting. Aren't you supposed to keep us delusional homers grounded in reality? Fun group we have this year, no?

Henry spent the summer honing up on his post moves to the basket. The results from that work have been great. He now has an array of moves, depending on who is guarding him, to get to the basket. Other than Robinson and Deng, the player guarding him so far, has not been of BE caliper so he has gotten away with going soft to the basket and having it fall in or foul called. That will not be the case for UConn, Cuse, ND, Cincy, etc. He now has to learn its not enough to get to the basket, but you must have the will to finish because the majority of the fouls won't be called just like in the Friars game. That is a fact of life for a BE big man.

Fun group we have this year, no? Tas, very fun group. I think Otto is most talented freshman rebounder I've seen wear a Hoya jersey since Alonzo (Jerome Williams was very talented but came in as a junior transfer). I'm on record as having revised my conference record prediction up to 10-8 from 9-9. I'm not sure anyone on this board would call that optimistic... To be sure, the next 3 games are huge. We can validate our early team success/ranking and quiet any remaining critics (including myself), if we go 2-1 or better. I hope the team is focused on takin' 'em one atta time. Git. Er. Duhn.

Henry is playing himself into consideration for the next NBA draft. Who would have thought this was possible just two months ago. Now, I think he is showing so much maturity that it will not be difficult to envision him making an NBA team and earning playing time.

The array of moves that Henry has now is absolutely unbelievable. On top of that, they rarely seem forced. He seems to have a good grasp of what move will be best in each situation. Also, that drive and finger roll with 2 minutes left was beautiful. What an amazing story Henry is this season.

Great bounce back game from Henry. Hit some big shots. Made some great assists. And played some tough defense. Very solid game, and was in foul trouble to boot. Nice.

Am I wrong in thinking that Henry is playing at a Greg Monroe level right now???
