Absolutely nothing. Just politics.

The police are trying to hide things. Not surprising though that Boeheim hasn't been fired yet and the Syracuse program hasn't collapsed considering Syracuse's control of ESPN and the media. Quite a contrast to the lynchmob mentality with Penn State.

Just returned home to Syracuse for Thanksgiving.
A he-said, she-said story is on the front cover of the paper this morning. Notably, the accuser's girlfriend was the one that called the police and said she didn't even use Fine's name when telling the police the story. At this point, its all just a mess.
To quote Jason Whitlock's twitter, "Syracuse.com enjoying web traffic. ESPN trying 2 save face. DA looking 2 advance political career. Police afraid 2 tell truth."

It amazes me that Boeheim is still coaching. He should be fired immediately like Paterno. How could he let this go on for 30 years without knowing that Fine was a pedophile. I don't like this double standard that the media and internet lynchmob is using with Paterno compared to Boehimem. Just shows you the power of the media and internet.

I hate repeating this ad nauseam, but these are JUST ALLEGATIONS. There has been no proof of wrongdoing (on the contrary, 4 separate entities - ESPN, the Post Standard, Syracuse Police, and SU) have previously investigated this and found nothing. If these allegations end up being true, everyone up at SU should be fired, but right now no one can jump to any conclusions until this issue is fully investigated by all parties. However, right now the main investigative parties (Police and DA) are bickering and their fight just so happens to be front page news on ESPN.com

Not a double standard.
PSU had eye-witnesses and multiple corroborated incidents that were reported and ignored by university officials. There was a long grand jury investigation followed by indictments.
Syracuse has an allegation that needs to be investigated thoroughly.

Needless to say, no one on this board is a fan of Syracuse. Nevertheless, anyone who doesn't see that the situations at PSU and Syracuse are worlds apart is looking at them with a jaundiced eye.

Report: Bernie Fine has third accuserExcerpts Syracuse assistant coach Bernie Fine has been accused of sexual abuse by a third individual who says Fine molestated him in 2002 at a Pittsburgh hotel room when he was 13 years old, The Post-Standard of Syracuse has reported. Zach Tomaselli, 23, a resident of of Lewiston, Maine, told the newspaper he was interviewed by Syracuse police on Wednesday, when he also signed an affidavit that a source told the newspaper resulted in a search warrant being issued and carried out on Fine's home on Friday. Innocent until proven guilty. But now there are THREE accusers? If this turns out to have substance, Jimmy B is going to look pretty dumb when his initial comments are replayed.

Ugh. This is making me sick.
This story is weird in his own way, but its a 3rd accuser nonetheless.

With 3 accusers, Laurie Fine making admissions, and the Feds involved, what's the over/under on how long before Jimmy B deserts his friend?

Magoo never should have said anything and I assume he never talked to his lawyer before coming to Fine's defense. You don't know what you don't know, and that's giving Magoo the benefit of the doubt. If he knew something, he's even dumber than I could have imagined.

I bring it around to pepper-spray because it isn't about football, basketball or sex but violence - it's about abuse of power and that sickening video was also in an educational context, not Watt's riots but kids on campus after all, kid's to whom the grown-ups owed better. Where's the abuse of power by the state? Sounds like some law school idealism crap. I never said abuse of state power, just abuse of power and I think you know SU hoops is pretty damned powerful in upstate NY. News breaking over the weekend on this seems to paint a picture of a more screwed up scene than many wanted to admit - including now allegations that one victim had sex w both Bernie and his wife, plus the third accuser comes forward. Whatever is in those three filing cabinets may well make us all ill, but at least it appears the investigation is taking a reasoned course despite the program and it's friends playing obstructionist defense.

Many troubling sidebars to this story, including:
1. Laurie Fine's apparent knowledge of these (and perhaps other) situations.
2. The allegation she had a illicit relationship with one of the very victims.
3. The fact that ESPN has been sitting on this evidence (and perhaps more) for eight years and their motives going forward.

3. The fact that ESPN has been sitting on this evidence (and perhaps more) for eight years and their motives going forward. and we know that Syracuse alumni virtually run ESPN. How do you suppose all of this is playing with their new conference buddies down South?

I really hope Boeheim knew of nothing.
But, when he's your right hand man for 40 years and you live across the street from he and his deranged wife..don't you at least have an inkling that makes you NOT come out and make the statements he did?
