I'm pretty sure everyone does a version of "we are" these days. I believe USC was first though with "we are, S C".

Its not truly unique to us - I think "We are Penn State" was the original (not sure how much they use it anymore). However, I've been to St. Johns home games before and have not heard that. It's new for them. Which is why it has to stop. What feels new is that I've started to see a ton of "WAPS" shirts over the last couple months. Hopefully those will all be hidden in the back of the closet for the next couple of years now.

Would someone tell me if the Savannah State game on all access is streaming video or merely gamecast type coverage? Also, earlier versions of the schedule showed Savannah State on ESPN360 and the American game of Dec. 17 on MASN but these are now shown without video coverage. Wha Hoppen? Does anybody know the answers to these questions?

The video link takes you to the all access site where the broadcast is shown to start at 11:30am on the 12th for that game. www.guhoyas.com/allaccess/?media=268175

I know... quite annoying. I thought this cheer was unique to G'town. Am I mistaken? Show some originality Redmen. I can recall the "We are St John's" chants going back to the early to mid 80's. Their student section even had printed red signs back then. I don't know if SJU was the first to use it, but GU certainly wasn't either. JTIII's introduction speech notwithstanding, I have no recollection of our using the chant prior to 2004-2005.

Many years ago I heard the claim on TV that Georgetown originated the Let's Go (Mas-cots)! clap clap, clapclapclap chant back in the late 70s, early 80s timeframe. I'm willing to go with that in the absence of any evidence disproving it.

I remember the students yelling "We are Georgetown" as the Union and Confederate forces returned from Antietam.

That's funny, I have lived in LA for 15 years and I can't recall ever seeing a t-shirt, bumper sticker or any other merchandise that says "We are SC", nor ever heard the chant at any games (but that's probably because they have to play their annoying fight song after every freakin' play). Checking their bookstore, there is a t-shirt that says "WE are SC", but it is just one of 47 men's tees for sale. In any respect, "Fight On" is their go-to motto. It's like their "aloha".

Triplett traces the origin of State's signature slogan, "We Are Penn State," to the team's collective response to collegiate football segregation.
When rumors circulated that the 1948 squad's Cotton Bowl opponent, Southern Methodist University, wanted to meet with Lion officials so that Triplett be left behind, guard Steve Suhey responded with: "We Are Penn State. There will be no meetings."blog.pennlive.com/pasports/2009/02/we_are_penn_state_slogan_began.html

I think even the most die hard Nittany Lion fans will have trouble mustering up "We are...Penn State..." this weekend...

You know it's college basketball season when the voice of Dick Vitale starts piercing your ears again.
That said, this UNC-Mich St. game is really really cool

Anyone know why the court for UNC & Michigan St. has both the men's 3 pt line and the old women's 3 pt line?
