"I'm not sure the team that played the hardest won tonight" -Jim Calhoun
Back on the edge of the bubble.
Great game tonight Hoyas! Props to Ray Reed, who showed the doubters why he's an important player on this team.

Somebody explain (in FLHoya depth) what transpired in the game today. Just got home and realize that we had a chance to win. Seems like the guys went for it, and came up just a little short. On to the NIT?

down 2 with seconds remaining (5?) Cook made a pretty poor off balance shot rather than passing to a WIDE open Green at the top of the 3 point line. You have to think Cook saw him. Green was on the NBA three point line, something we seemed to do ALL NIGHT. Great effort in the second half though boys.

Green was on the NBA three point line, something we seemed to do ALL NIGHT. I noticed the same thing a few times last night. If they could use a modified version of the Wizards floor (with the NBA lanes) at MCI for ACC this week without the 3-pt line why couldn't the one at MSG be taken up?

The best thing about this game...
Down 11...fight back to six. Down 12...fight back to six. Down 11...fight back to six. Down 9.....fight back to two.
Okay, I might've added one in there, but this team wouldn't let UConn roll 'em.

For as hard as we play, doesn't it seem like no one really wants to shoot? It seems like every other time down the floor we are taking a bad three with under 5 seconds on the shot clock.
I think that comes from having a young team, but next year someone is going to have to step up on O and start taking the ball to the rim.
sorry for the random rant, but i can only yell at the tv so much.

frrst it was great to be in the garden...second .. the hoyas made us very proud .. a great comeback vs. the hall... and then they had uconn sweating... i didnot realize till i got back... and saw the highlights that green was wide open.... behind the arc screaming for the ball for the open three... and the win.. but they played with heart ...and never gave up.. some obnoxious uconn guy all nite razzing us and at the last minute... i asked if he wanted to buy a valium ...and he asked if he could get two.. we are georgtown and we are back so proud of these hoyas just wished we d played like that in the five game losing streak..... we woulda won two or three at least... go hoyas.. go dj ..go everyone.. ps the uconn guy shook my hand and said congrats at the end i told him not bad for an 11th pre season team.. go hoyas ps an di was happy that the cuse knocked them off.. no more relatives from conn grief ... thanks hoyas... very proud ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Echo lichoya . . .
This was the first time I've been at the Garden since 2001 (when we lost to SHU in a crap-tastic game that saw Bras go for 0 - yeah I was sweating bullets well into the second half on Wed). First, is it just me, or was there some actual Cuse - Gtown comeradie? It's like our bitter, hate-filled rivalry has turned into a cautiously optimisitic friendship-of-sorts. At least, that's what I was thinking when some old 'Cuse fan paid for a ride to the Garden for me and my buddies in a Towncar!
Second, are we the comback kids or what? That was just amazing both Wed and Thurs. Even though we didn't pull it off on Thurs, we still had the poise and confidence to run the offense and fight for the ball even when it seemed like all was lost. I was fortunate enough to be sitting around some pretty classy UConn, Cuse, St. John's, and Hall fans, and it really seems to me like everyone in the league is psyched about III, in that we all kinda think he'll be the next great BE coach. Everyone at MSG seemed to be expecting pretty great things for us next year.
Third, and finally, the GU Band still knows how to party. Thanks for the good times, ladies and gents.
